Robert Gray
Hello, I just got off Symphony OTS this past week. During our stop at Coco Cay, I rented a beach cabana at the Beach Club. I asked our attendant if he could fill me in on what was being built at the end of the island. He told me that they are building “Villas.” Basically, it’s going to be an area where you spend the night on the island. Each villa will have their own hot tub and private area. I don’t understand yet the logistics of spending the night on the island. One has to assume a cruise ship would drop you off one day and pick you up the next. Or perhaps a different ship would pick you up if you decide to spend multiple nights? I was told that it’s already started construction and should be completed by 2023. WAAAYTOOO
Interesting. I thought they had abandoned the idea of overnight stays at PDCC.

I was told that it’s already started construction and should be completed by 2023 Given that they're basically running ships to PDCC daily for the short two/three night getaway sailings, they could practically repurpose a smaller ship into a ferry/shuttle of sorts for those who want the inclusive Coco Cay experience but don't particularly care about what ship gets them there. dr martini
Ampurp85
Hmmm maybe this is a revenue thing. RCG is trying to get people who don't sail to spend more time on the island. That would be a big boost, other non-cruising guest paying to stay on their private island. GKMCruising and cruisellama

That's exactly what I'm imagining. Basically their own little version of Atlantis without the casino. WAAAYTOOO

The questions , how many villas ... if it is 5 villas it will not do much change as not sure how much you can ask for such experience . Plumlee2028
If they're villas could they be villas similar to Norwegian's on their island right next door? Not intended for overnight use, but basically a day house for groups to use.

This would be my guess...with dual use, for potential future overnight guess accommodations
leesam82
I agree my guess is they are going the same route as NCL and their villas on their island.

I believe Coco Cay is still part of the Bahamas and I have read RCCL leases the island and doesn't really "own" it. RCCL would need to get approval from the Bahamian government to open a casino.
