Adventure Ocean - how strict with kids ages?

We'll be on the Odyssey in a few weeks with my two kids (4.5 and 2). My 2 year old will turn 3 the day after the cruise ends. She's fully potty trained and does just about everything her older sister does. Do you think AO would allow her to join in the 3-5year old group so she could be with her sister?

Anyone have experience with this? This is the first cruise where my kids are old enough for AO, so I'm really excited to let them try it out!

There's certainly no harm in asking, but since technically she is 2 years old, it may not matter due to the rules.

I'd still say you could ask, especially if she is potty trained.

Our son turned 3 on a cruise ship. After a brief "interview" he was allowed to be in AO before his birthday due to being potty trained.

 

However, with covid protocols, and due to the fact your kid won't turn 3 while on the cruise, your mileage may vary.

The minimum age might get you. 

Once my children did not want to be separated and the older had just aged out of the younger group.   AO did allow the older to stay in the younger group with her sister.

Thanks! I'm kind of hoping they'll let my younger one in since we're going at an off-peak time, so I can't imagine there will be a ton of kids anyways.

I am traveling with 2 8 year olds that will be 9 literally weeks after the cruise! With parent approval would they be able to go the 9-11 year old group so they can check themselves out of AO?

IMO that would be more problematic due to liability issues.  You giving permission to sign themselves out does not absolve the cruise line of responsibility.
