Final payment has already passed for all sailings November 14 and earlier (60 days for the shorties) 😂

True LOL …… BUT I was about to make final payment on my December 18 cruise today before I received the email.  I’m glad I saw it first …….. even though Myself and my spouse are vaccinated ……. We will NOT be letting out 9 year old son be vaccinated ……… so if it’s approved for 5 to 11 yo by then, and RCL requires it for that age group by then ….. we will be cancelling all our cruises from that point on  ……… so I'm glad I don’t have to give them any more money until November 18 when I will know what the deal is

I'm glad it worked in someone's favor!  You just made the cutoff 😂

I'm so very thankful for this! I've had some unexpected news that kinda turned everything on its ear, and I was afraid I was going to have to cancel my back-to-back Christmas/NYE cruises, but with this, I'm not going to have to even remotely entertain that thought, and those cruises will be even more welcome as winter holiday escapes!

Wonder how this impacts "Royal Up" timing?

My RoyalUp details said you can modify your bid until up to 3 HOURS prior to sailing, so I'd imagine they could RoyalUp you after boarding the ship into someone's no-show room if they really tried hard enough 😂

So if your cruise is jan 1 you pay oct 3.  If your cruise is dec 31, you pay december 1?

If you booked directly with Royal, yes. For my Christmas Eve cruise, my final payment date has moved to Nov. 24. If you booked through a travel agent, they may have a different deadline, but it should probably be within a week or so of whatever the 30-day date is. My travel agent likes to get payments taken care of a week before final payment just to stay ahead of any last-minute issues. Since the week before the 30-day mark for my NYE cruise is during Thanksgiving, I'll pay a few days closer to Royal's actual deadline.

Not very well thought out.  Final payment for my Nov 14, 2021, cruise was mid-August.  Payment for my Mar 6, 2022, cruise is first of December.  Cruises in early 2022 should be included.

My final payment for November cruise was due (and paid) back in August!  Would have been nice to have another month and a half to pay it off especially because I have already gotten 2 price drops which are now OBC!!  Would have been nice to have a smaller balance to pay!  Oh well....I'm glad others are finding this helpful! 🙂

Same - I'm already paid up!! One less thing to worry about I guess.

This is also a shrewd business decision. If they delay the date from when folks cancel out due to COVID numbers, uneasy feelings, etc. then they get to keep the money and the reservations on their books longer. Makes the bottom line look better. In the pre-COVID days they had folks lined up to take those cancelled rooms, today not so much. Not saying good or bad, just a good business decision at the moment as well as good for the customer. When they finally get back to full capacity I anticipate the final payment time will move out again.

After I got a call from Royal Guest Experience repeating scripted language from RC's update —that they’re “working with their medical teams, government health authorities, and testing providers to provide us with the best experience…” I agree with@WAAAYTOOO “they will most likely get cancelled anyway”.
OP  suggested to take a look at the CDC Color Status for Royal Caribbean ships.  It’s beginning to feel a lot like Xmas… (and NYE 2020) on dry land all over again😔

Anyone notice it changed check in date? Ours was aug 28th and we had checked in. Now it says oct 13th and im thinking I have to do it all over again. I also had the earliest check in time. Im assuming its gone?

Just checked my Allure 12/19 sailing.  Check in date went from September 20th to November 4th now.

@MamaSharkI don't think you read @WAAAYTOOOpost properly. As she is unvaxxed, RCG doesn't want to allow her to sail. She said she will end up cancelling her sailings since she can't be in the casino and enjoy the ship. These sailings in the post won't be cancelled, RCG has just moved final payment to ensure they can sell as many room as possible. Subsequent post speculate that check-in has changed because final payment has been pushed back. I think that is true, no point in putting up check-in times until people have paid and you have an idea of how many pax.

@MamaSharkSadly @WAAAYTOOOhas had to cancel a few sailings because she is unvaxxed. With ports making sure everyone over 12 must be vax and casinos being vaxxed only, she hasn't been able to sail. Her blog was the first thing I read on here and why after over a year of lurking I signed up

I sail Oct 31st, within the current time period mentioned in this post, and am 100% sure my sailing is going to happen and not be cancelled.

A thought just occurred to me. With the pushback in final payment date for my December cruise, does that mean that my airfare payment is also pushed back (booked through Air2Sea)?

I know when I booked my Air2Sea reservations for my December cruises, the cost was added to the cruise invoice. According to the Air2Sea FAQ (not specific to this latest change in payment dates), those payments follow cruise final payment guidelines.

@MamaShark, I apologize if my post was confusing.  @Ampurp85is correct.  I was suggesting that I may have to cancel my Dec cruises NOT b/c I want to cancel but b/c they will not allow me to cruise.  I have had to cancel 6 cruises so far for this reason.  I fear my Nov and Dec cruises will suffer the same fate. I do not believe Royal will cancel additional cruises for now.

Update from my TA. Apparently air has not been pushed back. Just cruise fare. That is as of today. By tomorrow it might change lol

@Ampurp85 I’m not sure what you want. I’m trying to politely remain on topic, but I said exactly what I meant in direct response to what @WAAAYTOOOinitially stated.  I don’t need you to jam her entire biography down my throat after the fact for clarification. (She’s a grown woman,  proved perfectly capable of speaking for herself💁🏽‍♀️)

I’m not trying to debate anyone over inconsequential blog content. Please stop tagging me in your ruminating feelings.

I'll definitely touch base with my TA and/or Royal (I have one cruise each being handled by them) and see what I get told. It just seems odd, since the Air2Sea fare gets lumped in with the overall cruise cost. But, I'll do whatever I'm told!
