I just purchased some RCL stock today and emailed to Shareholderbenefit@rccl.com for this Friday 7-8 Oasis trip.  Will see if I get them..  Wish me luck...

In my case, I couldn't wait for my next monthly statement so I got my brokerage (TD Ameritrade) to generate a letter confirming I had 100 shares.  I then sent that letter to Shareholderbenefit@rccl.com along with my booking numbers, ships and dates.  In about 24 hours, the OBC was posted to all my future cruises.

I had a cruise planned for the end of may and in April I uploaded my March statement reflecting the shares.  The OBC was applied to my sailing (verified on the website) within 2 weeks.  Unfortunately I was unable to go on that cruise as I tested positive the day I was leaving the house for that cruise.  I cancelled that cruise that day as a result and booked a new cruise (same ship) the next day for three weeks later.  I then obtained my April statement (end of May timeframe) and uploaded to the site.  Again, they credited my account with the OBC within 2 weeks and I was a very happy sailor 🙂

So far no luck.  I haven't see my OBC credit in my account.  Maybe is too late, since I will be sailing tomorrow.  Or am I missing any other paper work?  I email the PDF form and one TD Ameritrade with my name and address and the other one with the Purchased approved of the RCL stock.  hmmm

Well to update all, the original submittal I made via the online "survey" site, went through on ALL four of my upcoming trips!! i received a confirmation email with an updated vacation receipt adding in the shareholder credits for each.

Quick question. How far out are your cruises? It says to wait until 21 days before applying for credit but I figured you could apply earlier.

I understand that a comped cruise does not qualify for a RCCL stock owner benefit as per the rules, but what about if you upgrade the comped interior to a balcony, will the benefit kick in then?

You can try. But when I tried it 3 months ago, they rejected my request for an OBC.

I think that you might be able use a "snipping" tool the do a screen shot of your online statement if you just bought the shares and don't have a monthly statement.  It is a standard tool/app on any windows PC/laptop.  I assume that Apple will have something similar.

If you just bought the shares, you could probably send a copy of the trade confirmation.

Hi all! I'm new to this board and am enjoying reading through threads and learning about how to maximize my cruising experience with RC. I was completely unaware of the shareholder benefit but recently bought shares when the price was down (hooray for the positive earnings call). Thank you all for your advice here--I emailed my form and a copy of the trade confirmation for a 9/29 cruise last night at midnight and got the credit at 2 p.m. today. I couldn't believe the quick turnaround! I was also pleasantly surprised they allowed it, as I applied a casino discount to this cruise in addition to the ongoing promotions like the FCC kicker.

I have had no issues thus far receiving the shareholder OBC through the online form.

For my June cruise, I submitted my trade confirmation.

For my upcoming cruises, I submitted my June brokerage statement. I downloaded the relevant page of my brokerage statement as a pdf, then used the “redact” tool in preview to black out any information they did not need and saved the updated pdf. They need to see your name, the date/statement period, the stock obviously, and the number of shares you own. I filled out the shareholder benefit online form just shy of three weeks out from my next cruise. You can submit multiple cruises for OBC at the same time on the online form. I got an email response with the OBC posted to my account for both of my upcoming cruises two days after submitting my request.

Make sure to have your booking ID’s and travel dates at hand before you start the form: https://rclshareholderbenefit.questionpro.com

October, December, May 2023 and Sept 2023.

Wait....really!  You received shareholder OBC for all your sailings...months in advance?  No...actually a year in advance?  What gives?  RCI info we have says submit 21 days out [about].  Hey great gig if you can get it!  Don't understand though since one could sell their stock at any time [much less a year out and Brandon is doing such a great job at it and all]?

We have no plans to sell of course since we are now deeply in the RED, LOL.  But would be nice to submit just once for sailings throughout the year.  I somehow am suspicious of this though [that RCI really does that].

We still haven't discerned what method succeeds in this...by email, on line submittal form, or written snail mail form?  We usually receive the benefit [not always though] and we usually submit several times using different methods [my wife and I each own 100+ shares in separate broker accounts so can submit separately, though just looking for the single benefit per stateroom of course].

Worked for me a few weeks ago.  I submitted the online form one time and noted 4 cruises.  The OBC showed up in my cruise planner about 3 days later for Aug. 2022, Dec. 2022, Feb. 2023 and June 2023.

I submitted for 2 comp cruise, it said not not qualified.  I did submitted another one for May 23, which is not comp and today, I got an email saying I got the OBC.

Yep! And my 2023 cruise in Sept which was changed from Enchantment to Brilliance...they had first removed my OBC but then added it back in once it was set.  So not sure if i just lucked out or it's a glitch in my favor but I have all my OBC's set.

Here is more (current) positive data to use the Shareholder Onboard Credit Offer Request Form (PDF).

On Friday (8/26/22) I summitted 5 separate email requests for shareholder OBC at around 4PM EST.

On Sunday (8/28/22) I received 5 separate DONOTREPLY emails with PDF receipts for my OBC at around 2PM EST.

My cruise dates ranged from SEPT 11th 2022 through SEPT 14th 2023, so the time limit doesn't seem to apply.

The total OBC amounted to $650!  🥰

I was told a statement lasted for 3 months, before needing a new statement to book the OBC.  I had statement emailed and got the credits the next day for the cruises within 3 months.  Will do it again in a couple months for other cruises.

Random question relating to the shareholder OBC benefit:

Does anyone know if the RCL shares have to be part of a "regular" individual portfolio (traditional brokerage account), or can they be part of a tax-advantaged one like a retirement/HSA portfolio? I definitely can add some RCL stock to my tax-advantaged portfolio easily (looked it up and see an option to purchase from my account), but if it needs to be a "regular" individual one for Royal to apply the OBC I'll have to wait longer to do that. My name is included on the statements but lists the account custodian as the first line and mine as an "FBO" second line. But if it doesn't matter what account type it is I'll probably try to add some to hopefully use for an upcoming sailing in a couple months! Any extra OBC I can get my hands on is great (already have NextCruise and MyVEGAS OBC applied!).

FAQ simply says "shareholder".

I submitted via the online survey tool and got no response or confirmation back.  So the next day I submitted one via email and got a quick turnaround for my October trip. Credit is in my cruise planner a day later.

I think i'll do them this way from now on. Just one at a time when I get within a couple of months of trips. probably have to send an updated statement each time so they know i'm not selling shares.

I blacked out all numbers and other items on the statement and just left the RCL one there for them to see.

So you can redact your non royal investments. We tried calling the (954) 628-9325 to ask and the guy wasn't too useful.  I'm assuming you blacked out both the account number and other investments? I still have 4 weeks, but need to submit soon

I have redacted everything ( including the price I paid for the Royal shares) except what they require: my name, the RCL stock name, the number of shares, the statement date. I have also left unreacted the name of my investment company for more authenticity I guess.

I have gotten shareholder credit for 3 cruises (all of the cruises I have owned it for) quickly with no problem at all using the online form. I submitted multiple cruises last time (there's room on the online form for up to 10 as I recall), so doing the form in late July I submitted my August and October cruises. OBC for each hit my account within days.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. The person on the phone advised not to black out anything, which concerned me.

Yes, ANY investment account whether tax advantaged or not.  Personally I have mine in an HSA for the triple tax advantage and have gotten the stockholder OBC several times.

Thanks to @twangster @mistertomatohead and @billdauterive for the quick responses. I assumed "shareholder" was as specific as it got but am one who always likes to triple check things beforehand for stuff like that. I've got an HSA I've been building up for a while, and if I can put some of that into an RCL investment and get a little extra benefit to use now (while hopefully letting that investment make good for years down the line) that's definitely an added perk.

Thanks @YOLO, I wanted to check since the name/address block on my statements is a jumbled mess at first glance, with my short name hidden right in the middle of the block. Next step (once I get the purchase finalized) since most statements have my name and identifying info on a separate (mostly blank page) while the pages with my holdings listed have zero identifying data with my name or account. I appreciate the efforts to help with privacy but adds some challenge when the info together helps more in a situation like the Royal OBC. Something tells me they're likely used to deciphering statements like that.

I had a good experience using the online portal: https://rclshareholderbenefit.questionpro.com/

I received my OBC in less than a week from the date I submitted my request.  I'm not sure why some shareholders are experiencing delays in their requests being processed, but my guess is that the request was made too early?  The online portal states "Please submit requests 3 weeks prior to sail date."  I was over 5 weeks away from my sailing, but my request was processed anyway.  When submitting your statement in PDF format, make sure the statement shows your name, address, and the name of the brokerage.  Also, blackout or remove your account number from the page(s) you'll submit.  That's what worked for me.  Hope this helps!

You probably have your answer to this by now - but I'll toss a recent experience your way.  I made my stock purchase on 10/14 and knew the statement would not make it in time to meet their 2-3 week request.  I did a screen shots of the purchases showing the count of the stocks and date, cut and pasted them into a word doc with a note explaining my circumstances. ( I actually had 4 different accounts that these fed from.) I submitted the document in lieu of a statement. My OBC was credited within about 3 days.

Bought mine the next day after posting, and my brokerage issues statements on the 1st of each month so I was able to have it to submit for the upcoming sailing (that turned into 3 upcoming sailings quickly after) and already got a $200 return (since 2 were short sailings). Since all the required info was on separate pages of the statement, I just decided to save the PDF and use the markup feature on my iPad to draw big black boxes over all the stuff they didn't need. Turnaround time was generally 12 hours (submitted late at night after getting home from work, got confirmation email the next day before leaving for work - though sometimes just the updated invoice showing the OBC).

Only thing I have hindsight regrets for is that two days after I bought my stock the earnings call came in where prices dropped $7 a share. Made it back the next week, but as a human I had that "if I had only waited" moment, but that easily could have gone the other way too. Still bought it for a good price, and enjoying reaping the benefits so far!

I bought RCL stock this summer.  I copied the  Sept statement, blacked out everything but my name and the line showing I owned RCL stock and the date of the statement and submitted it for my late November and Feb cruises. Got notification in 4 days that it was accepted.

Now only 36 more cruises to do before I break even.😁

I purchased shares a few days ago. Got the trade confirmation. I'm doing two consecutive saplings on Liberty and then Freedom so I sent a separate email for each sailing I have with the request sheet and the trade confirmation with all pertinent info blurred out. It was added the same day! Pretty fast turn around.
