Royal Up offers

So excited!  Just received (and submitted!) my first RoyalUp offer.  I'm currently in an Interior Promenade on Freedom OTS 4 Night 29Nov-3Dec.  Submitted close to the minimum bids on Oceanview Balcony (min bid $45; my bid $55) and Spacious Oceanview Balcony (min bid $55; my bid $65).  I would be very happy if I won one of them, but not disconsolate if I didn't.  I like my current cabin location, so it's win/win, as far as I'm concerned!

I have to share my experience from July 2019 that's similar to@SpeedNoodles . I placed a Royal up bid and was notified we won but the card was declined. I was able to immediately resolve it and provide a new card to secure the bid we'd won.

I don't remember all the details but I know that I was immediately able to resolve it with the information provided to me from Royal or the the Royalup folks.

Congrats to all who won and happy cruising!

Did they call or email you when it was declined?

Hi!

I think back on almost every circumstance I ever had that was similar (since unfortunately most of us have had our card numbers compromise a few times…) the vendor (whether Amazon or someone else) always reached out about the card being declined and asked for an updated card. I would think there should be someone, somewhere, to contact at RCL to get the card updated as cc issues have become a rather common occurrence in our current society. But if there’s not, surely they will reach out to you! Don’t give up hope we’re all sending super positive vibes your way. 👍🏼🤞🏼🍀

So today all my offered expired except one.  How long after this does it usually take to know if in fact we got the room we put the bid on?

Also trying to decide if I should tell my wife or surprise her when we get to the ship if we get the upgrade.  Any thoughts?

From what I have seen as soon as 5 days before sailing till right up to the day of sailing.  Ours happened 3 days out around 3pm in the afternoon.  I believe it works like a domino affect, they take care of the higher rooms 1st, then work there way down.  So that they fill the rooms the most efficient way possible.

Upgrade accepted to the Grand Loft Suite!!

Just wrapping up our cruise on Odyssey after enjoying our RoyalUp to a grand loft. Gotta say this was thrilling beyond belief. We truly enjoyed every aspect and the suite was awesome. I got many a good nap on the balcony this week. Enjoy and congrats!!

I received my first-ever Royal Up offers from RCL.  We recently reached Diamond status.  I went ahead and made some bids to upgrade from our Ocean View Balcony.  I was surprised that the offers from RCL come so early - we received the Royal Bid emails on 10/12/21 and 10/13/21 for our Odyssey sailings on 12/4/21 and 12/12/21, respectively.  Sounds like we will be waiting for a while to find out if we "won".

I rec'd Royal Up offers on my 2 Dec cruises about 10 days ago.   Yes, a long wait.  Maybe they hope to get more offers with adding more time to do it?

Have an ocean view balcony on the Symphony for 10/30 put in bids on 10/7. Today my bids for 1 bed owners suite and 2 bed owners suite are expired but my Grand Suite is still pending. Fingers crossed! I bid a bit over minimum and all we’re considered weak.

This happened to someone in our traveling party on our most recent cruise last week. All offers expired except one but they could no longer modify or cancel the offer anymore. This happened a few weeks prior to the departure. We kept waiting and it was about 3 days prior to the cruise that the offer was officially accepted! I've heard others say the same. Good luck! I'd say you may have gotten it! Give us an update when you find out! 🙂

Go for the surprise! This happened a few weeks before our cruise for someone in my traveling party but it wasn't until about 3 days prior to the cruise like 2:30 pm we noticed the room numbers changed on our reservation that they were notified of the upgrade from junior suite to owners suite!

I have a low offer in on a 2 bedroom ATS. I don't expect to actually win the bid, but am still trying to determine if we really want a 2BATS over a crown Loft. I'd Ike the crown loft with Star amenities 😄

The Crown Loft suite comes with Sky amenities. The Royal Loft and Star Loft suites are the loft suite with Star amenities.

Around a week before my October 2nd Symphony of the Seas sailing two of my three bids showed expired.  I could no longer modify my grande suite pending room.  Kept doing mock bookings online so I knew there were at least five grande suites available.  I was notified four days before sailing that we had won the grande suite.  Ten hours later my credit card was charged.  Odd, that I was notified first then charged.  Started with a free casino balcony room.  Bid $975 each for hubby and myself for the grande suite. Cancelled my internet package as that comes with the Grande Suite.  Just under $2200 (instead of $7,000 online) we experienced the suite life.  It was absolutely wonderful.  Lots got the junior suite for a minimum bid.

So we sail on 22Nov2021 and I submitted all my RoyalUp offers about 2 weeks ago.  Earlier this week all of my offers showed expired except for one which shows pending (we have 2 cabins and submitted the same offers for each and both have the same RoyalUp status).   The one pending is for a spacious balcony room.  When I tried a mock booking it shows all balcony rooms sold out.   So I can’t even tell if there are actually rooms left or if I missed out already and we will be keeping our original rooms.  Has anyone ever experienced something like this?

Yes, many, many threads including this one include posts discussing pending and expired RoyalUp bids.  Yes, all the balcony rooms may be sold out on your cruise but yes you may still get one.  How?  The people currently in those balcony rooms may be moving up to better categories based on their own RoyalUp bids.  If you do get accepted, your first clue may be a credit card charge.  If you are not accepted, your bid may not show as expired until after you have boarded.  All you can do is wait and see.

Losmabies, I would also add that in these uncertain times there are a lot more people having to cancel at the last moment. So Royal’s third party, I believe, are keeping a lot more “alternatives (pending)” for all that uncertainty.  I do believe all the rooms in that category are sold-out because if rooms were available Royal would keep trying to sell online at a premium price until closer to sail date.   Even though all rooms are showing “booked” there’s still a chance for you.

I just booked my cruise 2 days ago for sailing dec 5th. I went onto royal up site and put in my name and ID number and it just says make sure you are within 30 days and check that the information input is correct. Am I not eligible?

Yeah this happens sometimes. I was never eligible for a RoyalUp and I think it had to do with my room.

I have bids in on Royal Up for Harmony of the Seas in March.  Today, I went in to look at them, and I see this message under the "bid bar" for each of my bids: Pricing above reflects a 25% discount to normal bid pricing. Act fast as this promotion is only valid until Jan 31, 2022   Any idea what that means?  Does that mean they are treating my bid as 25% more?  Or the bids they accept are 25% less than what they would have been?  I am soooo confusedbids3.png.a221413417c1174ff8ca46c6248bcac7.png

Thanks AshleyDillo and nessachelle!  I wonder why it expires at the end of the month...

I am hoping it means they will start accepting offers at that time. I have seen several people state that they have receive their Royal Up's around the 2 week mark here recently. For my sailing January 31st will be around 2 weeks before sailing.  Fingers Crossed!
