wozswoman
We aren't heavy drinkers, don't drink soda so I think the drinks package is out. I already have an excursion in Nassau booked prior to receiving the credit, so that is paid for. Its my third cruise, first in nine years and 14 since I was on Voyager. Thoughts? Pattycruise
Is it possible to cancel the excursion and rebook using In board credit? The only issue could be if it becomes “sold out” immediately when you cancel. perhaps photos, the gift shop-perfumes/cologne-jewelry, specialty good that’s not included (coffee etc)
smokeybandit
Half/most of that will go to your gratuities, unless you prepaid them Neesa, KristiZ, Pattycruise and 1 other 3
crabkitty
We had more OBC than we've ever dreamed of, on this upcoming cruise. We booked a couples massage, to treat ourselves. That's still only half of what you have. Outside of that, we're looking at using it for drinks on board. A tip that another poster gave me is that if you go to the casino on board, you can use it on the slots for free. Just play for a few pulls and then cash out. You can take the cash home with you without paying the additional fee that you'd pay to use it on the tables. wozswoman

If they have the option enabled in on the slot machines to charge as OBC to your room, then yes, it's easy. That option wasn't there on Oasis but they had an advertisement about it on one of the digital posters. I asked the cashier and they let me do it at the cashier. They basically give you a voucher that has to be used in the slot machines. I just put it in and cashed out on the slot machine for a redemption voucher. If you don't want that hassle you can get straight up cash from the cashier charged to your room, but it's a 5% fee for that. crabkitty

You might take a look at the current Cruise Planner sale. The price on the deluxe beverage package per person for that sailing isn't awful! Outside of that, you might find some more things to splurge on at reduced prices.
Jill
I have the same issue but my OBC is a little over $900! We applied our 125% OBC to an upcoming cruise. It was a smidge over $1k. We bought drink packages, ultimate dining and CocoCay beach club. We still had about $250 left over. Then we added our shareholder $100 benefit. Then the cruise was just repriced with the WOW sale and that added almost $550 to OBC. I don’t know what else to buy lol. I’m sure we will cash out whatever is left at the end minus the 5%, I can live without $45. I did try to talk hubby into a floating cabana but he was not onboard lol. Now I’m looking at swimming with Sea Lions in st Thomas. Hope you find something fun to do! If the ship tour is offered, (currently not due to Covid), I’d do that in a heartbeat. BrianB
Welcome to the message boards! I am also on that sailing. Unless you opted to pre-pay them…your daily service charges for two will be over $200. The big thing for me is to never inadvertently leave any OBC behind! On a related note; I always check every day to keep track of my spending. Every once in a great while there is a discrepancy and it’s best to never wait until the night before disembarkation because that’s when guest services gets super-busy. CrimsonCruiser
I like to put OBC toward a port-day Spa splurge and those shop sales in the promenade. Specialty dining can be good too

Vancity Cruiser
Our TA repriced our Ovation cruise for next month and now we have a whopping $888 onboard credit and we had already prepaid gratuities, purchased dining and excursions. I guess my wife will be spending a lot of time in the spa Neesa
Shari
We had a whopping 986 in OBC for our October cruise. We have already paid for gratuities and purchased the dining package and now with that sale it went down so we cancelled and booked with the OBC. We booked for our friends also so they will pay us back in cash. We still have 300 and another 100 for RCL stock. I like the casino options since I like to play a few games while on the cruise and I can cash out the rest.
