Hi,

We are going on Harmony in sep, but I hope you wont mind me posting here.

We are in doubt if we should re-scheldue. The policy we can find on RC website is, that all guests will have to wear mask all the time, execpt when eating/drinking or at the pool. So, we will have to wear masks walking on the sun deck, at shows, at the casino, etc. We are afraid this will ruin our experience.

We are hoping they lift the restrictions to match the US ones, meaning decinated areas for vacinated guests where masks is not required. If they do not, we are very tempted to take a Norweigian cruise instead (which is 100% vac guests / no masks required).

If you would share any updates before sailing, or perhaps your experience when on board, we would greatly appreciate it!

If any of you pioneers on this first sailing would care to share your experience - check in procedures at the port, onboard, excursions, etc. - on the live blog board here, that would be extremely helpful for those of us sailing after you and I am sure I speak for all of us in saying that we would be very grateful.

Wishing you all smooth sailing and a wonderful cruise! ?

While my cruise tomorrow cannot compare to a European cruise, we were notified yesterday we must mask.  All passengers except under 12 MUST be vaccinated. (Bahamas origin cruise)

I considered a cancellation but honestly, it’s a mere inconvenience as it is a policy with our  best interests at heart.  If I want to circumvent that they gave us the out…eating/drinking.  So carry a chip bag (I’m packing some) or a drink.

I believe all ships are at a limited capacity, I believe ours is 30%, I doubt I’ll ever be on a ship with so few people-and I think that in itself is a unique story to be able to tell.  My kids (all over 18) won’t likely have long lines at the water park-animus for them! And I likely will be easily able to find a lounge chair in the shade.
another factor to weigh is would you lose out money on your airline and other associated travel expenses?

Yes, reduced capaity is nice, but on EU sailings you will have to wear a mask, sitting in that free lounge chair.

We just got word today that our fav port (Marseille) is replaced with a sea day. Also, we will no longer be able to explore the ports freely, but need to book an excursion (often way overpriced).

Our backup plan, taking a Norweigian cruise also just got tanked, since they have mask requirements now as well.

We are very close to canceling.

Hello! Thoughts on booking shore excursions now vs waiting for onboard booking? The email update suggested a 20% discount on certain excursions booked onboard, but doesn’t list them. Many I would be interested in are now listed as a “pre cruise deal” on cruise planner— but doesn’t mention the actual discount percentage.

help!

Hello All,

Well it was great to get out sailing!  We ended up with only about 900 passengers with us on the Harmony I'm sure that will be a once in a lifetime experience.

We enjoyed our time but as was expected it was a very different experience to preCovid.  The onboard rules were masks in all indoor spaces unless sitting at the dining room or bar eating or drinking, but no masks in the outdoor spaces.  Our Genie was limited to 15 minutes out of the day spent with us and no employees could come into your room while we were in it. We had a wonderful Genie but the empty ship and limited interaction took away from the normal experience.   My opinion of the shows: There were no theater productions, the headliner musical acts were ok in my opinion, the ice skating show was very fun and the best show in my opinion, the aqua theater show was good, not as good as i have seen in the past but I'm sure as they sail and practice more it will get better.

Per Italian rules the only wat to get off the boat in Italy was to purchase a ship tour, and as we found out they were very strict about not leaving the group, you could only shop at the one shop they took you to and could not wonder anywhere.  I understand this is a rule in place from Italy but it defiantly took away from the experience.

Can you possibly download the cruise compass to this site pretty please?
