Air Quality in the Casino

Recommended Posts

Initially when ships first restart it stands to reason there will be fewer gamblers simply because there are fewer guests.  If ships are at 50% capacity the numbers of smokers is likely cut in half too.  So I'm thinking it will be better.  I'll be eager to see on my first cruise since it's usually an area I avoid due to the smoke.

My first cruise is scheduled for Sept.  Hopefully the casino will be better.  But smoke bothers my eyes and my throat.  Time will tell.   If I don't gamble I will probably save money!  haha

this one tiny sliver of space gets an exemption from the normally strict smoking rules. RC must think the smokers will donate more money than the non I guess. You'd think it would be near the tipping point where the non's will out spend them if given clean air. RC doesn't have a ship on pilot project with a no smoke casino?

As someone who's very sensitive to cigarette smoke, smell, I've never found the casinos all that bad. Though I usually spend a grand total of 30 minutes per cruise actually gambling though

Same with us, we only spend about that much time there as well. I can't stand cigarette smoke. Have never smoked even though both of my parents did when I was growing up.

According to the CDC, as of 2019, only 13.7% of all Americans smoke.  And since it has declined every year since 2005, I assume less may smoke today. That seems a small percentage for Royal to cater to.  Over 86% of us would prefer 'no smoking'.
