Trying to google this and actually finding lots of interesting info!  So not sure this is the first used slogan but one used in the 1990's was "The Grand Resorts of the Seven Seas".   If it's not the first one used...hope someone will share that info!  ?

Thanks for doing this Trivia topic!

Thanks for helping me not stay crazed trying to find that slogan!  In my readings I do remember that Royal merged with Admiral Cruises in late 1988.  Does this answer the question?

Yep congrats!!! Yes we need diversion from people trying to live our lives and tell we are stupid and wear a mask or do not wear a mask. Okay enough of that. Go cruising and carry on.

Empress OTS was originally named the Nordic Empress.

In the first 20 to 30 years of cruising the ships itinerary were different than they are today, what is the difference?

Actually when Royal acquired Admiral, Nordic Empress was originally Future Seas.   It was still being built at that time so they added a Windjammer and a Crown and renamed her from Future Seas to Nordic Empress.

Until she left the fleet recently any on board billing still appeared on a credit card as "Nordic Empress".    At acquisition she was Future Seas.

You are correct as that was her original name. RC bought Admiral in 1988 but the Future Seas was a newbuild or not yet completed. When christened she became Nordic Empress.

Did each ship have its own itinerary…separate from the others?  I assume there was not much to do onboard either!

You are very close. When the SON came out it did Nassau, St. Thomas and San Juan. It had to do Nassau because of the Jones Act. It did this itinerary every week. When the Nordic Princess came it did 14 day itinerary out of Miami deep into the southern Caribbean. When the Sun Viking was launched they had to find new places to go and looked westward.
