Nate Y
Can anyone offer an opinion on the CocoCay jetski tour? I want to do it with my wife as a passenger, but I'm curious what people think. Fun? Boring? Are the sights nice? Not worth the sunburn? cruisellama

MicDay
@Nate Y we did it in 2019. First time on a jet ski, I was the passenger my husband drove us. I think we weighted too much we were put last and lost the group a lot. My husband would have had more fun if he could've gone faster. Our daughter drove herself (first time too) she did not weight enough and disliked it. She loves speed so it was not the jet ski she just did not like trying to keep up with the group. They put the more experience drivers in front to the least experience in back. So after all this rambling I think you'll enjoy it if you've drove a jet ski to have a bit of experience. It was not really for the sights but for the speed of driving a jet ski, that's what I took from it. I did enjoy it but I would not do it again. My husband would do it again without a passenger. cruisellama and Baked Alaska
cruisellama
Was interested too (for the experience). Seems the pricing was reasonable for a rental also.
D Alt
I am planning on doing this for my upcoming trip to CC. So we have to stay with a tour of other jetskiers? How many are others are there in this group usually?
Va4fam
My wife and I are scheduled for the jetski tour at the end of February on Oasis. We will each be a "driver" and it will be our first time on a jetski. We have done ATVs and other motorized craft. On a previous trip to CocoCay we watched the jetski excursion. They were giving instructions including staying with the group and absolutely no alcohol permitted or consumed by anyone before the excursion. We watched them go out with the more experienced and faster drivers in the front and there was a guide or two that escorted the group. I don't think they were allowed to explore on their own or saw any sights except for coming and going to CocoCay. Will know more in a few weeks and can report back if you'd like. cdixon22
Wilson
We did it a few years ago and thought it was boring. Really boring and especially for the price. Keep in mind that at the time we owned our own Sea Doo's. The excursion consisted of following the person in front of you doing zig zag's and a couple circles. I realize it was a safety/liability, but you were not allowed to venture out on your own, jump wakes or try to toss your wife off the back. LoL We would never do it again. cdixon22
I loved it and will definitely do it again. We only had a group of 5. Sites are incredible and you can go as fast or slow as you want as there was two guides one leading and one trailing to help. It is an actual tour and they tell you some of the history in the area. It is all open water touring around the different islands. I was surprised how far out we went. Va4fam
Va4fam
Thank you @cdixon22, that is very useful info. We are looking forward to our jetski excursion. cdixon22
Nate Y
In the end ours was cancelled due to low tide and high chop. Money ended up going to a poker tournament. Maybe next time.
