Zurc
This same approach should enable Royal to vaccinate Liberty and Explorer crew in Galveston, with similar agreement https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/ports-destinations/port-galveston-may-become-first-us-vaccinate-cruise-ship-crew “ During Tuesday's Galveston Wharves Board meeting, trustees were told some 350 crew from Carnival Breeze and Carnival Vista are expected to be vaccinated on Monday and Tuesday (ships will be in Galveston) through arrangement with the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). They'll receive the two-dose Pfizer vaccine. Board trustee E.L. 'Ted' O'Rourke told Seatrade Cruise News he's surprised the crew aren't already vaccinated. But hewelcomed the initiative, as long as the program goes through proper channels with the city, the county health district and UTMB, and all cruise lines are treated the same and have equal opportunity to get their crew inoculated.“ cruisellama and WesKinetic
smokeybandit
Getting crew vaccinated is a no-brainer at this point. Once you arrive for your pre-contract quarantine, get vaccinated. Supply is not a concern anymore. Zurc, cruisellama, Heymarco and 1 other
twangster
Bayley commented on the vaccine culture of the crew. Royal has long offered but not mandated flu vaccines. Crew adoption of flu vaccines is historically mid-90% he stated. They recently surveyed crew about their thoughts on COVID vaccines. Bayley has suggested the responses follow flu vaccine acceptance trends which he attributed to the long time flu vaccine culture that crew have demonstrated. Basically this is a crowd that tends to accept vaccines. Now that vaccines are available on a walk up basis securing them for crew will be a matter of which one do you want? Supply is an issue here, there's a vaccine site capable of administering 20,000 shots A DAY but they can't get enough vaccine. No shortage of takers either. 3 hours ago, twangster said: Bayley commented on the vaccine culture of the crew. Royal has long offered but not mandated flu vaccines. Are you saying walk up is available in the cities that have cruise ports? You can't walk up to a vaccine site here unless you have an appointment. There are a couple walk up sites but you have to live in that county.

There's no supply issues in Florida or Texas, or in most states outside the Pacific NW, which is the only area still seeing tangible case increases right now cruisellama

Florida reported 5,666 coronavirus cases and 55 deaths Thursday far more than the Pacific NW. Florida adds 5,666 coronavirus cases, 55 deaths Thursday (msn.com) Washington had 1,608 cases. Florida has 3x the people as Washington. Plus you can't just look at a single day. stevendom57
