cwtom
Looking to get some reviews/suggestions for shore excursions. Will be sailing AOTS in September, with port stops in Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. Will be travelling with husband, 4YO son, and my mom. Looking for family-friendly excursions! TIA! Floski
We went to St. Thomas and St. Maarten in April and took one formal tour and one informal. St. Thomas - we were walking around in Charlotte Amelie at the Riise Mall and ended up taking one of the tour buses that parks down at Veterans Dr. The driver was Timothy (with a nice red bus!) and he was fantastic! He took us all around the island, even down to Megan's Bay. I think it was $20 per person. I highly recommend him. He'll take you to Mountain Top where the view is phenomenal and there is a huge gift shop and bar where they specialize in that Banana Daiquiri everyone craves! I might be able to find his card if you would like his phone number. On St. Maarten, I had already booked through Bernard's Tours, and they were great as well. We went all over that island - Maho Beach, Orient Beach, Marigot (which was a nice surprise). He even stopped at a couple of other stops - an iguana farm, and another one with a beautiful view of St. Bart (I think) and they had sea creatures too. This tour was $45 per person and you got drinks on the bus and time to eat/sightsee at Marigot and Maho. We really enjoyed it (I would've had more fun if my back wasn't killing me  ). They are located very close to the dock so that was nice. cwtom and WHStoneman
Matt
In St. Maarten, your 4 year old will love Le Galion Beach: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2016/06/09/excursion-focus-le-galion-beach-st-martin
ref00095
Just came back from the ports you are going to. My wife and I went to Paradise Point. It is a sky ride to highest point. The view is spectacular and nice restaraunt to get some good food. If you want to go to a quiet beach try Water Island. The water taxi near Tickles (4 minute walk from the ship) takes you there. Met locals and beach is calm and quiet. Taxi ride $10/person and is round trip, your son may be free not sure. St. Maartean we went to Bikini Beach, but their are lots of spots to hang out at. The water was calm, it is on the French side. Enjoy your trip.
firegal2539
In St. Thomas there is a place called Coral World that would interest any kid, because it interested me. In Phillipsburg I did the Butterfly Farm. If huge butterflies don't scare him, it is fun also. Nassau, I go to the casino at Atlantis, I guess that is a no go with the kid.
