Drink Packages

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what the limit is regarding the Premium Drink package?  What I mean is my husband usually goes to the bar would buy himself and I a drink, pay for it and bring them both back, with both of us buying the package does it mean we both need to go up to the bar or will the cards be linked so they know?

How often can you order a drink?

I'm not sure there is a restriction in their POS system.  I'm only basing this on the fact that I needed a few drinks on X and forgot my wife's card.  It was embarkation day (and I was just asking for juices and water or something) and they let it ride.  Then again, maybe he just didn't enter it in the computer...

I always take the wife's card and get two drinks. You may see posts from people that say they only have one drink card and are able to get drinks for their spouse also, with it. That is stealing and I hope they get caught. RCI has to pass the loss on to somebody. As far was how long between drinks, I think it depends on the bartender. Actually so does having only one card with you if the bartender knows your spouse also has one. It is absolutely amazing how some servers remember you after meeting you only once or twice. Funny how they are the ones that seem to get the extra tips. :)

There is no time limit. If you order a beer, chug it and want another, that's fine.  Obviously if you are taking the drink back to your chair and returning often for more, they might suspect you of abuse (sharing the package benefits with others).

The only time restriction I am aware of is with the self-serve soda machines, where there is a 10-15 minute time limit to prevent sharing.

The last cruise we were on was the Freedom of the Seas last November (2015) and my wife & I both got the ultimate drink package. We had a 5 minute wait time between drinks. The reason I know this to be the case was we took a shot after the shot we ordered a beverage and when he went to swipe the card there was an message that popped up and said something to the effect of we had to wait 5 minutes. So we asked the bartender what that was about because he told us we had to wait 5 minutes before we could order. That's when he also confirmed what I seen on the screen (just couldn't read it) that with the drink package the only limitation you have to wait 5 minutes between ordering drinks.

On Majesty a couple of weeks ago the servers brought me a bucket of ice and 3 beers at a time out by the pool. My wife had a drink package and was having frozen drinks. If they know you aren't sharing your package they will work with you.

I've also had them bring me 3 beers in a bucket by the pool with the package.  Actually happen to me twice now, I think they get tired of going back and forth every 15-20mins for 1 beer.

I'd guess 15 minutes between drinks.

From Experience on my last cruise we had met several people from across the world.  At night we liked to go hot tubing.  There would be between 4-6 of us who would meet in the casino...  1 person would take all the cards to the bar and grab drinks, turn around and hand off the cards to the next person and so on and so forth.  We could easily get a 6 pack a piece in about 15 minutes doing this.

I have asked for them to leave the beer bottle capped so I could put it in the mini-frig for later. Some will do that for you, some won't.

I agree, one barman in central park once gave 2 beers, one for now, and one for the road he told me :) I had the drink package at that time, and it was the last night on the ship.
