sounds like until May that US cruises are cancelled.

So I am guessing that the announcement tomorrow will cover till the end of April?  Is that what you heard?

And sorry about the UFS.  I feel your pain.  Since last March, we have lost 4 Star class sailings.  Next one on the chopping block is going to be my RLS on SY....so yes, I totally feel your pain.

I wonder now IF Odyssey of the Seas will be sailing in Europe in April.   ?

IF the past repeats itself, RCG will follow suit with Carnival brand, Hollnd America, which took their Mediterranean cruises aboard the Volendam and Westerdam ships and canceled through early June. And in Canada and New England, Zaandam cruises are canceled through August.

2021 doesn't look promising.  ???

Given the case numbers, you'd have to think it's not happening.

What happens in the USA shouldn't affect what goes on in Europe next summer. We've had a spike recently but more because it's winter, the cold weather and flu season will die out soon. By April, the vast chunk of the vulnerable in the UK should have been vaccinated so hopefully that's a ticket for the Odyssey to start with the taster sailings from Southampton.

I see sailings going on in Europe in the summer, maybe not all at once.

We're due out of Southampton in May, we've already accepted that it's highly unlikely to happen, gutted doesn't even come close

Our planner.  He unofficially called to share with me the announcement coming tomorrow.  He was asking for other dates he should look out for in re-booking the ultimate family suite as this is the 2nd time we've lost it due to C19.

Sorry to hear about the cancellations! Let us know once you receive the official notification from RC!

I have been saying this here for months.....nothing happening til the summer and then it may be just the "test" cruise the CDC requires(90 day process or something)......even the fall is starting to look iffy at this point. We need MASS vaccinations to happen in the next few mths or 2021 is a write off for cruising.

Or just accept the risk and get on with it.

I would be happy to get on Mariner of the Seas today exactly as it was in May of 2019. The capacity was light and combine that with some mask wearing and sanitizer stations and its exactly the same risk profile as everything else in Florida these days ...

Oh.....i would be 100% ok with that..no issues at all.....but in this political climate, i don't think that is going to happen at all. If it was an option, i would be there yesterday

But there is no rational or reasonable discussions around it...its all or nothing with no middle ground for the most part(except in Florida it seems and maybe a few others states)

Only thing that is going to allow me to ever travel again from Canada is mass vaccinations.......

So my family is very happy we decided back in early December to Lift & Shift our April cruise to 2022.  Since there are 30 of us in 12 rooms, I feel lucky that I was able to keep our rooms almost identical to what we had originally booked for 2020 which then became 2021 (using FCC) and now 2022!!  I just tried a fake booking for our cruise and had we waited 'til this cancellation to do the L&S...looks like we would have been more spread out.  So doing the L&S ahead of time worked out for us!  Since our original booking, I have been the "in-charge" person, opting not to go with a TA.  I booked through the groups department and so far have enjoyed doing all the leg work for my group...even when I have needed to call several times to get something done!  Guess you could say I am my own TA! ?

I hope everyone who opts for a L&S now will be as satisfied with their results!  Good luck to all...hope early 2022 will be smooth sailing for all of us who are now waiting until then to hop onboard!!

I did something similar.  I L&S my March 14, 2021 cruise to March 12, 2022 a few weeks ago.  It is hard to L&S Star Class suites due to the low number of them to begin with and boy am I glad I did.  By now, all of the SC suites for any dates that I could have used are gone.  I would have been SOL.  I knew there was no way they were sailing in March.  Glad I guessed right.

Glad you guessed right too!!

Yeah, we have a mix of JS (7) and Spacious Balconies (5) on Navigator and keeping everyone on the same deck in very close proximity was already almost impossible back in December.  And with that many people, I didn't have the luxury of picking and choosing which date to shift to...there was only ONE that we could all do!!!  LOL

Once this family cruise happens I hope to continue cruising with just me and my husband so I look forward to booking the larger ships...longer cruises...and bigger suites!

VOLUNTARY
GLOBAL SUSPENSION OF
CRUISING EXTENDED

January 12TH, 2021

Dear Valued Travel Partner,

As we continue to focus on the healthy and safe return to cruising for guests, crew and the communities we visit, we are working closely with our sister brands at Royal Caribbean Group and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as government authorities around the world toward our shared goal. In order to return in the best way possible, we continue to extend the suspension of certain Celebrity Cruises sailings.

In brief, Celebrity Cruises will be suspending sailings through April 30th, 2021 including the May 1st, 2021 transatlantic cruise on Celebrity Apex. As well, May through October 2021 Europe and transatlantic cruises on Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Constellation will also be suspended.

For your guest's convenience, Future Cruise Credits issued as part of the Global Suspension of Sailing will also now be eligible for redemption by April 30th, 2022 on sailings departing on or before September 30th, 2022.

Guests booked on Celebrity Edge, Constellation and Apex will have the option to take a 125% FCC or 100% Refund, or to rebook any other 2021 Europe sailing and receive $100 OBC per stateroom.

FCCs issued as part of the Cruise with Confidence program will also now be eligible for redemption by April 30th, 2022 on sailings departing on or before September 30th, 2022.

Please see below for further explanation and, as always, we thank you for your partnership and commitment to our shared success as we return to sailing.

Sincerely,

Celebrity Cruises

Realist....glass half empty kinda view here.

Much better to temper expectations moving forward than for people to have a unrealistic blind sense of optimism for something that probably wont happen...no?!?

Technically, the glass is always full 50% air 50% water LOL :).

That was my attitude last March for last September. I kept saying it wasn't going to happen or we wouldn't want to sail early on. My pessimistic attitude allowed me to make a rational decision before locking in thousands of dollars interest free to Royal Caribbean. Now that we are cancelled until May, I was optimistic about September 2021, but I'm shifting back to my pessimistic attitude. I even started looking at what's available for 2022. Although, if they do sail in 2021, even if it's the winter, we might try and score a "last minute" deal on another sailing.

Thank you....well that just sends waves of cancellation for Europe cruises for RCG bookings in May....time to cancel.

I would suggest you not cancel but instead wait until RC cancels your cruise this way you will receive the 125% FCC. If you cancel you will only receive 100% FCC.

With the news that RC will let their Health and Safety panel of experts make the final decision on whether to require passengers be vaccinated prior to cruising, if that panel doest in fact make that recommendation cruising may not resume until July 2021.  The last thing any cruise line wants especially here in this country is for a cruise to be cut short do to a possible case of COVID onboard, even a false positive test would end the cruise immediately. The media in the U.S. is already sharpening their claws waiting for cruising to resume so they can once again tear this industry down. I would rather the cruise industry wait and get it right, than to see cruise ships splashed across every network and cable news channel with talking bobble heads trashing an industry they know nothing about.

So, you can do L & S  on any cruise?  I thought it was just cancelled cruises. I would like to L & S my May cruise , but it isn't cancelled yet.

You can L&S almost any cruise. Casino comps can’t be shifted. You definitely doNOT have to wait until the cruise is cancelled.  Right now you can only L&S a cruise through the end of April.

Thanks.  I will see about cancelling May and L & S to next year.  I realize I will lose my casino comps.  Which I have before.  3 cruises down this year so far.  Next one is now September (if I  L & S May cruise).  Have a good evening

Did your TA say that RCG is cancelling Europe/Med?

Even Celebrity doesn't appear to be totally cancelling Europe/Med (yet), but consolidating/cutting down on the number of ships sailing.

Otherwise why would they be encouraging passengers on cancelled cruises to move do a different ship sailing in Europe this summer?
