Ship and port info

Brilliance is part of the Radiance class comprised of four very close sister ships.   They were originally designed to be destination ships capable of operating in sensitive marine environments using gas turbine power plants.  Since that time a lot has changed so while that requirement isn't the same now it does account for their size, design and somewhat unique features within the fleet.  At ~90k GT they are "Panamax" ships capable of traversing the original Panama Canal locks.  That requirement does limit ship size by today's standards.

They have a small water slide area for younger children but they don't have the more sophisticated kids aquatic play areas like many ships in the fleet now feature.    No grown up water slides if that is a thing for your family.

Radiance class have a Centrum much like Vision class do.  With a bit of a size advantage over Vision class they offer a pub and a dedicated but small movie theater.  Like Vision class these ships pre-date the Studio B ice skating rink.  They do offer an adult only solarium with retractable roof that sometimes is opened depending on destination and weather.

The Schooner Bar is one of the nicer in the fleet with a large window wall to the sea.  The glass centrum elevators offer great views to the sea.

They are a nice, comfortable ship for their size but they lack some features that bigger ships like the Voyager class and larger can provide simply because those ships have more space for a Promenade, Studio B and water slides for example.

Their smaller size does allow them into ports like Key West where larger ships can't go but the citizens of Key West just this month passed an charter amendment banning most cruise ships so it's unclear if this recent change will cause Brilliance to lose her future calls on Key West.

Radiance class were some of the first ships with a public helipad.  Generally speaking they have great sight lines to the sea from many different parts of the ship.

Brilliance is a nice ship but she doesn't have the latest bells and whistles that have come to the cruise industry over the last decade.
