Mystery Onboard Credit

Has anyone else had mystery OBC posted to their CP accounts ?

This morning, while doing my morning perusal, I noted $100 OBC show available on 3 of my upcoming cruises:  Serenade, May 23, Allure, Nov. 13 and Symphony, Dec. 31.  In all 3 of these cruises, the "OBC banner" popped up and said that I had $100 OBC available.  I did not spend any of it...prices are "up" at the moment, but if they are still there when the next "sale" starts, I am going to gobble it up !!

Needless to say, no, I have not applied any OBC to any of these cruises myself.  They just mysteriously appeared this morning.

Yes! I have a random $100 on my Nov 2021 and $75 on Jan 2021 that was just added. I had completely forgotten about my May 2020 125% OBC that was never applied anywhere and just called to get it added to my CP. Now my Oasis Nov 2021 is fluuushhh with 1k of OBC. ? Let us be really sailing by then please!

I might.  I will wait and see if it's there tomorrow.

FWIW, last year, mine disappeared when I re-priced.  My savings was greater than $100 so I considered it worth the re-price.  And it was a star class sailing so not much I would have used it on anyway.  But I agree with @HeWhoWaits, use it now.

Yes! Only for my April 2022 booking. I hope it doesn’t go away...

Where do I look to see if I have the OBC on my 2021 cruises?  I booked the cruises through a travel agent and I'm not aware of how I can find this info myself.

Log into your cruise planner. If it’s there, it will show along the top of the home screen of your booking.

Just sign into your account, get into your cruise and open the Cruise Planner.  If you have OBC, a banner will pop up and tell you how much you have.

For some (like me) here is what is happening...When my cruise originally got cancelled I was offered the 125% OBC in leu of planner item refunds.....but then several months later they simply credited the refund (100%) back to my credit cards....now they are applying 25% as OBC as a way to "honor" the original offer.  I will say that while it took almost 8 months, in the end everything worked out.

That's pretty cool !  At least they are trying to do the right thing.  I had the same thing happen to me on 1 cancellation (I had asked for the 125% and they gave me a 100% refund instead).  As far as I know, they never gave me the other 25%.  None of my mystery OBS's were for cruises that had been rebooked or were the result of a cancellation.  1 is a casino comp and the other 2 are Empress L&S.

I had OBC to appear this week too, but I'm pretty sure mine has to do with a "Loyal to Royal" promotion that I booked last month. The fine print said that the OBC would show up within 30 days after the booking. Maybe you booked under some type of promotion like that and it's just now appearing?

Hmmmmm....now that you mention it, these are some of the more recent bookings I’ve made.  I find it VERY hard to believe that a casino comp (which one of these is) would qualify for any kind of booking bonus.  But truly, it’s the best guess I’ve heard to explain the mystery OBC.  Thanks for mentioning it !
