WAAAYTOOO
I am going to ask @michelleto see if she can get me a casino price on this one. IF the price is super duper good then I might book. I'm a bit leery of booking this b/c this is already such a full schedule for us. We have the B2B holiday cruises on Symphony (12-23 and 12-31) and then we do a S2S over to Oasis for the 3 Star Class cruises (1-9, 1-23, 1-30). Of course, there's the 1 week where we were booted (1-16) that we will be home but that's still 3 weeks straight plus another 2 weeks when we go back to Oasis. Then a week off and another B2B on Symphony (2-12 and 2-19). Anyway, I'm going to let price dictate this one. If we get a good deal, then I will but if not, I will probably have to pass. I really want to do it though.... Lovetocruise2002

If not your cabin steward will move everything to your new room.. Yes.. Technically you have to disembark so they can get down to a zero count. When we did a B2B on Harmony, they led us off the ship.. through customs and back on.. There's always a meeting for consecutive cruisers where they let you know where and when to meet, if your getting off the ship for any reason. and the process for Re-boarding.. Honestly I wasn't impressed with how it was handled on Harmony. Guests were already getting on before we cleared customs.. I have done several B-to-B cruises. Once I was taken off to go thru customs and then lead directly back on board. The other times they had a nice lunch for the people sailing BTB, and customs came aboard and checked our passports at lunch. That was it. Never had to get off the ship. Not sure if different ports have different rules or what? But we really like the lunch, with wine, and not ever leaving ship!

No one knows the formula used by CBP to decide if everyone must get off or if they'll come on board. Since they have the passenger manifest and passport details for those who entered them, I imagine they make a judgment call based on the initial computer review of the consecutive cruisers. If someone raises a flag they may decide to bring everyone off, if everyone appears "clean" they might decide to meet them on board. For several years I was called into secondary everytime I debarked or crossed a land border. Someone with my name had an arrest warrant and once that flag popped up I was sent to secondary for a deeper review. Once a more experienced CBP officer reviewed it I was allowed to go. This went on for years then it stopped. I assumed they caught the person and my name was then "clean". It happened so many times and I asked little questions each time so I learned the person in question was a different race. On subsequent visits to secondary I would mention this and that usually resulted in an instant release. So if someone like me, innocent but worthy of a deeper review was doing a B2B it could possibly influence where they check all consecutive cruisers. If someone in the collective group or if enough are not US citizens, or not enough have passports, or if a family of resident aliens, or... I've always figured that if a threshold is crossed on the initial computer review of the passenger manifest they would rather get everyone off the ship and deal with it in their space in the terminal rather than risk someone attempting to flee and jump overboard if they meet them on board. It's probably not you, but maybe someone else in the group. Linda R and WAAAYTOOO 1

I also though it could have something to do with how many BTB passengers their were. But who knows. Enjoy your evening, Linda
