chill6x6
Mercy.... It always seem that there are NO cruises I'm interested in or a couple I'm REALLY interested in that take place the exact same time period.... Sometimes I need another point of view to help me see a different perspective... So I have two cruises I'm looking at...I'm going to book one of them. Both are March 2022. Will stay in a suite of some sort. I'm thinking and hopeful the current COVID situation will be a little more sorted out by then. So these cruises: 1. 8 Day Eastern Caribbean aboard Allure sailing out of Ft Lauderdale. Ports ARE Puerto Plata, St Thomas, St Maarten, and St Kitts. I have been on Oasis in a OS. I have never been to Puerto Plata. My GF has never been to Puerto Plata or St Kitts. IMO there's not much NOT to like about this itinerary. 2. 9 Day Southern Caribbean aboard Explorer sailing out of Miami. Ports are Labadee, Aruba(9A-9p following day), and Bonaire. I have been to every port here, Carol only to Labadee. Pricing is very similar GS to GS. Y'all have any advice or opinion on my dilemma? You know...it's one of the better dilemmas I've had lately! LOL Thanks!
Ogilthorpe
From my perspective, the decision would be based on a priority of factors. 1. If the ship is more of the destination, I would choose the Oasis class every time. 2. If the ports of call are the priority, I would select the 9 day Explorer because I love Aruba and Labadee. A Tie breaker would be number of sea days ... I truly enjoy sea days ....everything is open, including the casino. AshleyDillo
With pricing the same, I'd go with the Allure itinerary. The suite benefits on Oasis class ships are far better than the offerings on Voyager class (Coastal Kitchen, free VOOM). There's much more to do on the ship and I prefer that it goes to more ports. You can opt to stay on the ship in one of the ports that you both have experienced before to make up for not having as many sea days and get to take advantage of the emptier ship. chill6x6, Ogilthorpe, Neesa and 1 other
WannaCruise
I'd vote Allure since the difference is only 1 day and just for Oasis class . And I've never stayed in a GS so can't comment personally, but as mentioned above, have heard the benefits are better on Oasis. chill6x6 and Ogilthorpe
WAAAYTOOO
I concur with @AshleyDillo. If you're going for the Sweet experience, the O class is a much better choice...although I do like the Explorer itin more. Hagar
Coastal Kitchen would be the tie breaker for me too chill6x6, Ogilthorpe and Lovetocruise2002 2

LOL Thanks! Sometimes the ship can be the destination, especially on Carribean itineraries you may nave visited frequently. Our going forward philosophy is if we're traveling to spend a lot of time off ship site seeing, then we'll book on a ship with less amenities. If we're on a repeat or near repeat itinerary, we'll take the ship with the most bells n whistles. chill6x6, Ogilthorpe, WAAAYTOOO and 1 other

sk8erguy1978
My vote is for Allue as well. Never sailed her and love Oasis Class ships, as mentioned better suite perks, I love St. Thomas and never been to Puerto Plata. Although, the Explorer itinerary is something I'd be interested in too. Ampurp85
My current opinion is to choose the ship you wouldn't mind being on for a while. Who knows how the ports will be....or if the itinerary will stay the same. So in this case I would recommend Oasis class because that is a city in itself to explore. chill6x6 and Ogilthorpe
GMartin32
Either sounds good right about now. We shifted our April 8 night southern on Odyssey till 2022. If you can go in April that’s an option to check out. Of those two, if it’s just me and the wife I’d take the Southern Itinerary since I we’ve done Eastern a few times. (Didn’t know Oasis Class could get into DR) Ogilthorpe and chill6x6
chill6x6
Great RESPONSES! I want to thank each of you for your responses. I tend to agree that the Allure is probably the way to go even if it's a day shorter cruise. I guess we can just enjoy that day in FLL pre-cruise. I had also forgotten about the included internet when staying in a suite. Any reason to pick one ocean facing CLS over the other?

If you look at Deck 17 plans, I usually like to pick more towards the center. Reason being that from Deck 16, if you look up, you can still see a few of the balconies that are closer (first 3 or so) to the suite lounge/CK end of Deck 17. chill6x6, Ogilthorpe and Neesa

chill6x6
So to follow up... Booked a CLS aboard Allure last night(1710 to be exact!). Kind of went back and forth a little with the OS and CLS. Really, I like the one-level layout of the OS better. We stayed in one on Oasis on deck 10 a year ago. Two loungers(at least) and a dining table on your balcony. Perfect! HOWEVER, we always felt we could have better utilized all the perks a suite has to offer if we were closer to CK/SL. Based on that we went the CLS route. BTW....price went up $140 from last night to this morning so I felt good about that! LOL! Thanks everyone for their assistance! Lovetocruise2002
@chill6x6 Fantastic news! If there are no mobility issues, I will always choose CLS over OS. Three main reasons: the WOW factor of the lofts (which no other room can match these), the quietness on Deck 17 and the large hallways, and the proximity to CK/SL. PRebecca
I needed those pictures! Totally losing my cruise mojo with all this bologna; it almost hurts to think about or plan cruising but we have 2) CLS booked on Oasis class so seeing the awesome photos did the trick, thanks! Enjoy your trip Chill6x6! Ogilthorpe and chill6x6
