3rd Party Travel Insurance and Lift & Shift

Recommended Posts

I'm sure this was brought up at some point, but I missed it. Not complaining (okay maybe a little), just offering my experience as something you might need to consider when Lifting & Shifting...

We decided to Lift & Shift our November 2020 cruise to October 2021. I tried to modify my travel insurance policy this morning, and basically I'm stuck with a policy that we'll never use. Allianz will only modify a policy up to 770 days from purchase. Our new sail date ends 772 days after purchase so they won't make any changes. I'm past the cancellation period so I'm just out the cost of the policy, and I still have to buy a new policy for our new sail dates.

I didn't think to ask, but with the L&S I wonder if I'll be able to get a pre-existing condition waiver since the original purchase date was so long ago and not the date I changed our sailing?
