Larry Muster
Last week I cancelled a cruise (that has since been cancelled by RCCL). I had two rooms booked, one for my wife and I and one for some friends we were ‘gifting’ a cruise to. Because I canceled our only option was FCC. Turns out (according to my agent) the FCC will be split and in the name of each each party on the reservation. The two people we gifted the cruise to are very unlikely to cruise again. I am wondering if the FCC is transferable (back to me) or if it can ONLY be used by the parties I was gifting the cruise to? Larry
WAAAYTOOO
The official answer is, “no”, the FCCs are not transferable. I have read a few rare instances where the certificate has been transferred but I cannot vouch for the validity of those claims. If you have a good travel agent they might be able to advocate on your behalf but I it won’t be easy. Good luck. Ogilthorpe
Andrew72681
By chance when was the cruise? Was it perhaps one of the ones they cancelled today? If so maybe you can plead your case, but this is one of the many reasons I advocate for waiting, as the cruise with confidence cancellations can be one up until two days before sailing. Lovetocruise2002
I also, have heard of a few cases where they were able to transfer the FCCs as a result of cancellations due to the pandemic. YMMV
