Getting antsy/impatient? I miss vacation....

Recommended Posts

Was supposed to be road-tripping to Florida in 13 days for our Indy cruise, now I'm getting extra sad but also antsy to get back on a ship! I'm sure most of us are in the same boat (cheesy pun intended). Anyone else already rebooked or reminiscing about a past favorite cruise? If so, post it below! Would love to hear everyone's favorite ships, excursions, drinks, memories, or anything else they miss about RCI.

Have two cruises coming up later this year -- one on Brilliance in October, and one on Anthem for Thanksgiving. I'm honestly still eyeing one in June just after the proposed re-start date.

I've only been on one other cruise and was a bit underwelmed with the experience (on another line, and in the Western Caribbean, which for me was kinda...meh.), but as I look back on it, I really enjoyed the overall feel of being out on the water and having the choice of so many activities or to just do my own thing. And of course, enjoy the food. ?

I miss the water the most! Can't wait to be back on the beach

I miss looking over the side of the ship at the blue water. And of course there's always the view from the back of the ship. I know there's you tube videos on this, but the actual wake view, now that's the best view.

That's what makes me saddest about my June cruise on Adventure being cancelled: I snagged an aft-facing junior suite and was really looking forward to that view! ?

This has been the worst springbreak ever ... started mid-march and it wont freaking end ?

Was meant to be out on a cruise last week ... ?

Supposed to be out on another next week ... ?

I really want to book Mariner getaways in June, July and August just in case one of them finally goes .... but for now my next up is September on Indy for the double private island run ... I really really hope that one goes ... ?

It's interesting that you say this.  I had thought of the same thing but I began to worry that I would not be able to use all of the FCC's if they started to roll in.  I guess you could do cash refund but I decided I would NOT book a bunch more cruises...well, I think I booked 2 more after that but they are waaay down the road.

I've been in this very head-space for a couple of weeks. I've been looking at a June cruise on Oasis that has a really good price, but I'm want to commit the money unless I knew for sure it was a go -- and sadly, there's a chance that I wouldn't know until a day or two before.

We're booked on Indy for a July 11th cruise. The kids and I are just holding our breath waiting to see if we will be going. I lucked into one of the new junior suites at a great price and at this point I don't care what port they pull in to. I just want the open seas, a beautiful view from our balcony and 6 or 7 days away from the constant miserable news! Getting away from work won't suck either and since the kids have been stuck at home for weeks now I know they would do just about anything to get out of our small, rural area. If I believed in this kind of stuff I would be making offerings to the Goddess Amphitrite to help us out!....... We need this cruise!

We had the corner aft on the adventure this past Christmas, great stateroom.  It wasn't a JS but the Pole room!  HA HA

I see that pole and all I can think is I'd find some way to hit my head on it. ?

Still, my quest for an aft balcony shall continue!

I do read that some people think it would get in the way and you would be banging into all the time.  Not the case on our side, I haven't even banged into it at night!

Wow! Is that a B3B in Jan 2022?? How amazing! I just added another for 2021 hoping we'll finally be sailing by then but pricing 2022 is in my sights!

Also I should say YES to the original question! I miss vacation so badly. My last was skiing in Mammoth in late February and it's been such a long road since then. I should've been to Puerto Vallarta and spent a few nights at Disneyland by now. Would be leaving Saturday night to Miami to see an Oasis class for my first time ?

Yes, one of them is the 3rd leg of Oasis B3B (1-23-22) and the other is the Symphony August 2020.  Both are casino comps.

Alrighty then ... they must have heard me because my credit card balance went down almost $12000 over night when the refunds hit... I guess i'm back in the planning game.

It feels a lot like gambling ... i'm out of money, time to get up from the table ... oh wait, i hit big on the final hand ... deal me back in !

I love all the planning that comes with a cruise; however, I have been holding back on our October 8th cruise just because everything is so up in the air.  I did cancel and repurchase our UBP and saved over $212.  We also got a great deal in November for our flights (1st class for $430 each round trip).

I am more hopeful today as Kentucky is starting to open up stuff starting May 11th; however, time will tell...

Southern Ohioan here - I remain hopeful, however skeptical. I'm hoping that with the return to normal we don't see a sharp increase in virus cases.

Chiming in on this - I was supposed to be coming off of Brilliance on Monday for my 30th birthday cruise. I miss cruising and travelling in general - even for business.

Related, my 30th birthday gift for myself was a new suitcase.
