Smoking

Recommended Posts

Do all Royal Caribbean ships allow smoking in the casino? I was on the Explorer of the Seas last month and the smoke was so bad the it billowed up into the promenade and all through deck 4. I am very sensitive to smoke and it ruined what should have been a dream vacation. Do other classes of ships have an enclosed casino?

You still smell it on the promenade on Oasis class. It comes up the stairway.

I could smell that poison near the stairway on other ships promenades as well. If they could only ban all smoking/vaping indoors on all ships, I for one would stay in the casinos longer. But then again, if I'm in the casino longer I'll be playing longer. I would have to set up a casino budget based on how much money I'd be willing to lose, not how long I could breathe. But I would be willing to try.

I agree that smoking is gross but it’s a free country & if people wanna smoke then go ahead & smoke! The casino I would imagine is always going to be filled because smoking & drinking go hand and hand with gambling.

I enjoy a CIGAR or 2 during the day and night on the pool deck!  I was on OASIS on March 1-8, 2020 with SUPER MARIO himself!

Freedom or Oasis CLASS have both made the smoking sections smaller compared to what they used to be.

Me too! I enjoy a cigar on the pool deck. I do wish it was the good old days where we could smoke a cigar on the balcony! That was very enjoyable to me.

I wish they'd just ban it all together. Nothing I cant stand more than smelling smoke on the pool deck.

I wish they would limit the amount of alcohol people can have one day. Nothing I cant stand more that obnoxious drunks on the pool deck

I wonder if they will ban smoking at least temporarily in the casino post-COVID-19.  I would think touching the chips/cards/slot machine and constantly having your hand close the mouth would put you more at risk.  What do you guys think?  Will they expand the smoking area on the pool deck/wrap-around deck to give proper spacing?

Anything is possible assuming the cruise lines set sail before a vaccine is readily available. CCL resuming 8/1 could be nothing more then a “plan” and still subject to being pushed out. I could see an outright ban on smoking across the fleet as a possibility.

If anything they should expand it to get customers back....they will be desperate for $$ and no matter what ppl say.....its a fair chunk of cruisers and gamblers that smoke....

Perhaps plexi-glass will go up in the casino to keep one side smoker free.....after Covid-19, I feel like nothing will be the same or out of the question

No one I have every travelled with is a smoker and I have never heard them complain about it...unless they are standing in the smoking side of the casino.....other than that, its never been an issue.

Sailing out of Southampton on Explorer there was no smoking allowed at all in the casino and it was very nice to be able to walk through and play without being choked by smoke! And the casino seemed to still be packed every day.

We sailed on Harmony and the smoke was terrible in the casino, but didn't seem to spread to the promenade.

Celebrity Cruises also do not allow smoking in their casinos if you are willing to try another line ?

If 2m rule is in place there wont be that many people in the casino anyway

How many players you going to get at a card or roulette table if 2m rule is followed?

Also Slot machines will need to be switched off so there is a gap.
