Royal split king Secret Posted March 31, 2020 Report Share Posted March 31, 2020 How are the twin beds combined to make the king? Is there some filler strip in the middle that makes the transition smooth? What keeps the two mattresses from moving apart and your knee slip through? Matt Posted March 31, 2020 Report Share Posted March 31, 2020 Magic! Seriously, they just shove the two beds together. Never had an issue with a gap forming. Perhaps the mattresses are joined together. I'll defer to @Lovetocruise2002 because she inspects her stateroom like she is in an episode of CSI. WAAAYTOOO Posted March 31, 2020 Report Share Posted March 31, 2020 There are brackets on both “single” beds that clasp together to hold the beds together. That’s why you have to be careful if you lift the beds to slide a suitcase underneath. If you accidentally disengage those brackets, the beds will become decoupled and the beds WILL slide apart. ...not that this has ever happened to me.... You can feel the slight gap in between them but we have never had a situation where the beds have actually split apart and we've gotten stuck in between.
