BTCking
Anyone know how the FCC works for comped cabins? My harmony on 29th is canceled, you would expect a upgrade on a later date, but they either offered me a refund of my port fees or same cabin for a future cruise date I believe. Anyone have a similar issue and get a upgrade at a later date? this is a huge headache for me as I had work off flights planned for the 2 of us, you would expect some compensation
BTCking
I had a comped balcony cabin on harmony March 29th, they canceled of course. I called in to see what can be done, waited 1 hour to get a rep at the casino department to answer, another hour for her to come back and say I will get ur taxes and fees refunded to the card in 30 days. I told her how about my room, can I rebook for a April sailing? She says my offer expired and I don’t have any more offers, I told her thats not my issue. She wasn’t willing to help, pretty much I lost my cruise and they didn’t do anything but give me my port fees that I paid, no way of getting the cruise back. FloatMe
At the risk of being the mean guy, Casino offers free room (on specific sailings) because of the unfortunate abundance of unoccupied cabins on a ship that was probably booked solid 60 days ago & you expected them to give offer you another free room on a sailing of your choice? JohnK6404
With the little info provided, since Royal cancelled the sailing and not you, I think they should extend your comp and provide alternate sailings for you to choose from in good faith. I’m not familiar with the casino program, but that seems like common sense since you did not cancel!

They are only giving people back their annual Prime cruise.. Was this your annual Prime cruise?
SpeedNoodles
And it's been two days. They are still trying to get all of their policies and options together. But yeah, create an account just to come on and complain. Give it a little time. I certainly wouldn't be trying to resolve this issue within the first few days. princevaliantus
My 2 cents: be patient, be kind. RCCL is working overtime to cater to thousands of people. Lets cut them some slack and not be snippy and rude. Remeber, KARMA is a (bleep!). Tables could turn and the rolls might be reveresed. Would you like to hear "that's not my issue?" I think not. I didn’t create a account to complain, as you can see, this isn’t my first post. If you have a issue with my post you don’t need to comment. If you took a week off from work, booked flights, and then got your cruise canceled 2 weeks prior, you would feel the same after waiting on hold with 2 airlines, Royal, and work to try to undo it all. Matt
The way I see it (so this is my opinion), you got a free casino comp room. I don't expect any FCC, just refund of any port fees or taxes you paid. If you paid extra to upgrade your room, or whatever, maybe then you'd get that value. But since you got a free room that was a perk, this isn't the same situation as someone who paid for their room. If it makes you feel any better, I suspect there will be A LOT of free casino comps coming down the road when this blows over because there's going to be hesitation to cruise for years due all of this. My apologies on this - I saw the +1, not the number of posts. I stand by my comment about being patient though. While frustrating, is there anything that says it has to be resolved within 48 hours? Sorry then since its not your Prime cruise they will not be giving it back. I totally get how you feel and honestly only people who gamble should comment because the rooms we get are not really free. Sometimes I spend $6,000 in 3 days to get a "free" room. I know then people say oh well you had the benefit of entertainment and that is true but without our generous contribution I am pretty sure cruise prices would be higher for everyone. Look at Disney.. No Casino on their ships and therefore prices are ridiculous. Just my opinion of course but I really feel people who don't gamble big don't understand. I agree newbies to cruising might be afraid or the average cruiser but I am curious about your opinion on this.. What about us die hard fans? Do you think they will also be afraid.. I personally cant wait to get on a cruise. I was so sad my cruise was canceled and honestly after watching all the cleaning and sanitizing they were doing I feel like its one of the safest places to be as long as someone didn't get on the ship with the sickness already.
