mworkman Posted March 12, 2020 Report Share Posted March 12, 2020 We've done this tour when we stayed in Mexico for our annual timeshare weeks and enjoyed the tour, however i would not do this as an excursion as the majority of your time will be traveling to and from the ruins. WAAAYTOOO Posted March 12, 2020 Report Share Posted March 12, 2020 I agree with Mike. Chichen Itza is a GREAT experience...one of the best examples of Mayan ruins. Well worth the effort BUT just know that you will be spending a LOT of time coming and going...plus you have to take a ferry from Coz to the mainland and it is unpleasant for some. Long ride to and from the site but I was okay with it. I don’t easily get bored. I also found the guide’s talk interesting. Yes the travel time takes a significant chunk of your day, but the site if fascinating and our guides were great. I would have preferred to have spent an entire day at the site, but that's only possible if you are staying for a a few days on the mainland. I recommend the RCL excursion only if you don't plan on ever booking a multi-day trip to the Yucatan.
