Oasis

Recommended Posts

For us, it is mainly for our son? He gets bored on a ship that doesn't have a lot to do. We love the shows, different neighborhoods especially Central Park. The size of the ship and openness works well because my son is in a wheelchair and it's easy to get around.

My husband and I prefer a ship with better access to seeing the water, but we like Oasis class as well. You can't go wrong with this class.

Candie, have you been on any of the Oasis class ships before ?

The Oasis and Allure are pretty much identical with a couple of very small differences (Solarium Bistro vs Samba Grill) so if you're raving about the Oasis you're probably raving about Allure too.

These ships have some very unique "neighborhoods" like the Boardwalk, which is exactly what it sounds like....a small beach boardwalk area - open to the sky above.  Really unique.  Then there is the Central Park area that is an onboard garden.  Lovely and peaceful.  There are 2 Flowriders if that is of any interest to you and a zip line.  Fun for the kids...not necessarily for me !  There is the ice skating theater which is fun and the shows are top notch.

The ships are massive. That can be a good thing or a bad thing.  Some people don't like the really big ships.  I love them.  So much to do !

Of course, for ME the best part is that these ships have the largest casinos in the fleet.  They are very nice.

For me I love Oasis class because of the wonderful entertianment, food options, and large casino.. I think the shows on Oasis class and Quantum class are top notch and I cant wait for Harmony.. I am someone who likes specialty restaurants so for me i like that there are about 20+ restaurants.. and again the casino is the best in the fleet.. going on Oasis in 63 days...

Thank you all and Raye. I guess I am going to have to book a cruise on her or the Allure. I haven't been on this class of ship. I have been on the Serenade, Explorer, Adventurer, Jewel, and Voyager. That is it. Since I am sailing on Empress in two weeks I will book an Allure or Oasis cruise and get the OBC credit.

While people rave about the Oasis class, there are also many who think the Voyager and Freedom classes hit a sweet spot between size (not being too big) and the number of activities and dining options offered onboard. For example, Matt's favorite ship is the Navigator, likely followed by the Freedom, although like most of us he'd sail on any Royal ship if given the chance.
