JoyJoy
Good morning! I sail today. Whoop Whoop! Can I leave the ship after I board? would like to get a couple of last minute items. Are there stores in walking distance from the port?
dr martini
Yes, technically you can. but it’s going to be a pain. Why chance traffic or an accident or something god forbid happen and you miss the boat. You already paid for a day of vacation, why not enjoy it? Just stop and get the items you need on the way to the ship. Wouldn’t that work instead? Baked Alaska and Neesa
Atlantix2000
As above, yes you can, but whether there is anything nearby (especially walking distance) depends on which port you are using which you don't mention.
Flacruiser99
@JoyJoy It's a bit late but next time mention what ship & port you are going from.

Baked Alaska
We did this in Seward. We boarded at 11:30 after arriving by train, ate lunch in Chops, then left the ship to head to the the marine museum/aquarium via the free shuttle. Then took the free shuttle back to port, boarded at 3:30/4 ish. Muster was around 5 or so. We didn't shove off until around 6:30 or 7pm. That's doable in Seward, as everything in fairly close, especially with the free shuttle that loops the town, but I wouldn't try it in Miami. That's just me, though. Enjoy your cruise!!!!
