new2cruise
I was wondering about the casino on Anthem. I've only been on one cruise and never went to the casino (on Oasis) Just wondered if it was using your seapass only or whether you could just walk up and use cash? Or do you need both? Just not sure how it works on a cruise ship.

MadamG2U
Cash can be used, I we on it in September. Note it is a small casino and can be packed at times.
JLMoran
For slots you can use your Sea Pass card or feed bills into the machine; I believe I've read that if you use your card for this, you do not get assessed the 3% convenience charge. Note that no matter what, you want to put in your card first and make sure the light on the machine is green rather than blue, so you get proper point-counts for your play. For table games, you can still get chips using your card, but will be assessed a 3% convenience charge unless you're at least Select level in Club Royale. If you plan to mostly do table games and you're not a big player in CR, I strongly recommend bringing cash for the casino. They will still request your card so your play can be tracked and points assessed at the end of your play. Personally, I'd advise sticking to the table games as the slots are notoriously "tight" and pay out far worse than slots in land casinos. Yes, there are stories here and elsewhere, including on some live blogs here with photo evidence, of folks hitting the slots for a very nice payout. But consider them the exception that proves the rule, and know that most of them were playing dollar slots or higher where the payout percentage is a smidge better. dodgestang
Walk into Casino with Cash and Seapass card. Sit at slot machine....put in seapass card, put in money, play game get tracked Sit at table....had cash and seapass card, get chips and dealer adds you to the table with seapass, play game get tracked. Walk through casino drop money into slot machine without putting seapass card in, lose money/win money don't get tracked.
