Budman
My wife and I are thinking of doing mostly beach days during our 14 days in the Southern Caribbean. Generally, should we do an excursion (either through the ship or elsewhere) or should we just take a cab? We're on Freedom of the Seas the weeks of May 31st (ABC islands and St. Maarten) and June 7th (St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados)
Brobbins246
Generally, you can do beach days much cheaper and just as well by cab than paying for an excursion to get you there and back. If you're concerned about getting beach chairs, umbrellas, food, etc without an organized excursion, just do your research ahead of time so you know what to expect. DDaley
I can only speak for the second leg of your B2B but most of those islands were very easy to get around without an excursion. We taxied to the beach in St Thomas (Magen's), St Kitts (Cockleshell), Antigua (Dickinson Bay) and Barbados (Brandon's Beach) very easily.
