Casino Point/Reward System?

Recommended Posts

So me and my S/O just finished sailing our first cruise last week.

We are avid gamblers ONLY when on vacation or at resorts, we tried to obtain the prime status while on our sailing.

We've spent together an average of $6,000-$7,000 on tables and never played slot machines. We played daily around the late evenings.

At the end of our cruise she received a $100 certificate for our next cruise and I received a $200 certificate.

No prime membership was mentioned, which got us a bit bummed out.

Does anyone know how tables work and what the average is to achieve prime status on tables only?

We played Ultimate Texas Hold'em & Roulette only.

This is one of the top secrets of RC , no one know how it works (some times I am not sure even the casino people know).

All I can tell you is that since they do not track it automatically it is always better that the pit boss will know you, see how much time you spent and most important your average bet ... (they count the money you rolled on the table during the play not how much you lost). One tip which I am not sure how it is relevant to Roulette (as they have only one table) -always play on a table which has a minimum bet which equal to your minimum bet. If you are playing minimum 50 $ on a table with minimum of 5 $ and they have not updated your average play in the system you will be registered playing 5 $ average ...

I have a piggy back question regarding the "longevity" of points.  I remember something about them expiring, but I can't remember if they expire a year after they are earned or if they run on a calendar year.

Points  are calculate between April to end of March . So at 31-March of each year all the points you earned expires , the status you get is for the period you got it and the year after.

For example : if you got 2500 points on Jan 2019 you will be prime from Jan  2019 to end Of March 2021 . The points you got will keep accumulating until end of March 2020.

During Jan 2019 to end of March 2021 you will get free drinks and other benefits. The only benefit you are not getting intimidate is the free cruise , you always get it on the next April, with this example you will be able to book your free cruise at April 2020 (only once)

The points run on a calendar, April 1 to March 31. Points earned during that time apply to status for the next year.  Club Royale explained it to me that status or awards earned during that time would be sent to you after April 1.  You can call them and they can tell you what your points total and what your award potential  are.

I don't know if it is this way on all ships, but on the Symphony in October 2019 the dealers were updating the points at the tables. It may be more accurate that way.

I had no idea about the expiration for the points...

I don't know when i'll be sailing again but if it's not within the year I'd lose all the points i've acquired from my previous sailing then.

This is on top of IF i even manage to hit prime during my second sailing before it expires.

The truth is, if you going to try and become a Prime Tier level in 1 cruise, unless you have many thousands of dollars to play at the table games by making VERY large wagers over a VERY long time, the only reliable way to do it is to run your money through the slot machines.  I hate slot machines and I never play them but if I were trying to make Prime in 1 cruise, this is how I would do it.  The tracking of slot play is reliable and verifiable. You can track your own progress and vary your wagers in order to achieve the points you need.  Table play is neither quantitative nor reliable.  Table tracking is qualitative and almost entirely dependent upon the whims of the pit bosses to accurately record you wager value.  Yes, they track your time at the table but even that isn’t reliable.  Can it be done at the tables ?  Yes, but not making average or even above average wagers.

Once you make Prime and if you take multiple cruises per year, it is much easier to maintain Prime. The first time is the hardest.
