NewRCcruiser Posted January 2, 2020 Report Share Posted January 2, 2020 First time cruiser here! We stop in Nassau and am looking at booking the Blue Lagoon excursion through RC. How do we get there? If we book through RC is our transport already set up too? I know we take a catamaran to the island...but do I need to set that up or it's included? When we walk off the ship where do we go to catch the catamaran ride? We are concerned with safety so just want to make sure we are all booked ahead of time so that we aren't trying to catch a random ride to this island :-) Also, do we just take American cash the day of this excursion for drinks/food/souvenirs at the shops? And then a CocoCay question...how many ships docked would be too crowded? I see on a cruise planner site it looks like 3 ships are docked on our day...while all the rest of the week its one or two.. bummed we have to be on a day where it may be super crowded! anyone been there on a 3 ship day? Welcome to the Blog ! Glad to have you on board ! I cannot answer your Blue Lagoon question. I looked on my own Cruise Planner and, while there are multiple Blue Lagoon excursions, none of them mention transportation. Hmmm....sorry, no help there. As for your question regarding Coco Cay, I am continually perplexed why some schedules are showing more than 2 ships at CC on the same day. You are not the first to have this question or concern. To my knowledge, it is impossible for more than 2 ships to dock at Coco Cay at the same time. I suppose it is POSSIBLE to have 1 ship tendering and 2 ships docked but I would be very very surprised if this were to be the case. I suspect that there is a mistake in the schedule if it is showing 3 ships at Coco Cay at the same time. I just don't think it's possible or likely. 2 ? yes. 3 ? I don't think so. Your gathering point will be a venue on the ship, an area on the pier where the ship docks, or an area in the port where the pier meets the shore. Your tickets (which will be delivered to your room before boarding or later the first day) will tell you where to go. In all cases, there will be someone from the excursion holding up a sign with the name/number of the excursion. You will check in with them and they will mark you down on their clipboard. Once everyone has checked in, this guide will escort you to your transportation. For catamarans to another island, it is usually just a short walk to a different pier. Dan Curtis Posted January 2, 2020 Report Share Posted January 2, 2020 We also enjoyed the blue lagoon, we did Segway tour while on the blue lagoon, island is not that large, but very pretty, if you want to buy anything you will need cash, your sea pass card does not work there, it is also very safe and will be on a boat with many other cruisers, the boats come and go all day. KathyC Posted January 3, 2020 Report Share Posted January 3, 2020 If you buy an excursion through Royal, it will specify clearly if transportation is not included. Some will say drop off in town, where you find your own way back. But those are never in ports that you can't easily walk back to the ship, or a voucher is given for a taxi. I'm seeing fewer and fewer of those types of excursions. Part of having a Royal excursion is pick up and drop off at the ship. CocoCay can only dock two ships. The tender dock is inaccessible now that the dock is there. The sites where you go to see who is in port are not reliable at all. Rarely do they go back and update when itinerary changes are made.
