twangster
Like many awards by the pay media I think it's pretty clear who is paying for any particular "award". Keep that in mind for every "award" your favorite cruise line receives with a different media outlet. twangster
As a point of reference when the MSC Seaside won an award for the "Best new ship" it hadn't carried a single passenger yet. How can a ship that has never had a guest step on board be the best? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ChrisK2793, Fuzzywuzzy, teddy and 1 other

mworkman
Without doing any research yet, I’m willing to bet that whatever news agency give those awards out, probably get perks for there employees with those companies. i.e. discounts off Baked Alaska and ChrisK2793 1
rjac
As the late Ross Perot once said "If it looks like BS, if it smells like BS and if it sounds like BS.....then it is BS". Fuzzywuzzy and ChrisK2793 1
basil
We sailed on the MSC Seasise, I didnt feel like it was the best ship for families. The play area was cool with the bowling lane, F1 simulator, and the 3D game system. It was entirely to small for the amount kids, and it was poorly organized. Kids and adults just standing around trying to play with no help. One person in charge of all three items. Plus it only had 3 arcade games. Hardly the best!!! Fuzzywuzzy
Do the other cruise lines and ships get "also sailed" trophies?? Baked Alaska
coneyraven
Wasn't the Viking Sky the one that got caught up in that storm off the coast of Norway? ChessE4
twangster
A couple of years ago USA Today was all about Carnival cruise lines. Best of everything. IIRC, Vista was the best new ship and it hadn't left the shipyard yet. Even their news reporting was heavily slanted to favor Carnival ignoring several huge mishaps while demonizing Royal over trivial incidents. At that time it was blatantly obvious Carnival had bought their favor. The views and news on the cruise industry was heavily one sided. That's when I deleted the USA Today app and haven't looked back. They are a pay for headlines journal. They are not real news media. As with everything in the mainstream media, in my opinion, it has more to do with whomever supports their agenda than anything else.
