Sealife Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 Hi guys! So I live in Chicago and was looking for a quick weekend cruise on the navigator or mariner. Anyway I don’t really care about the port Miami or Orlando. I like thrill activities/activities, pool deck is important, More modern ships, Can you guys tell me which ship has more modern staterooms or just more modern ship decor etc. I would like to spend as less money as possible. Thank you!! In advance. Quote
monctonguy Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 They have both been amped.....I would Say Navigator is a little more up to date with pool deck and slides. Also, its usually 25% cheaper than Marnier as well. As for staterooms and the rest of the ship décor , it would be very similar. Quote
The Cruise Junkie Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 I Would Pick Navigator Over Mariner. I Been On Both And I Like Navigator Over Mariner. Quote
twangster Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 Navigator's pool deck is better. They are both great ships but all things being equal I'd go with Navigator. Quote
Matt Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 Nice things about Mariner... Easier/cheaper to get to (Orlando vs Miami) Mariner has hibachi Skypad Nice things about Navigator Upgraded pool deck Rooms were updated Both ships have water slides, but Navigator has two slides not found anywhere else in the fleet Quote
Jill Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 They are very similar with a slight nod to Navigator. We were on Mariner in October and had a great time. We only live 2 hours to Port Canaveral so no brainer for us. Airfare may be your deciding factor. Quote
WannaCruise Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 Love both, but I would pick Navigator over Mariner as they did a great job on the pool decks. It's very colorful and lively, and many options for different seating (many hammocks around, circular private seating...not sure what you call them). Navigator also has El Loco Fresh. The water slides are also a bit different. But Mariner has Sky Pad (my kids favorite). And it's a personal preference, but I preferred the production shows more on Mariner (but that's because I'm not a fan of ballroom dancing). Having said that, you can't go wrong with either. Quote
WAAAYTOOO Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 Not sure if Mariner has Hooked or not (never sailed on Mariner) but NAV does and I think that restaurant is GREAT ! Quote

Royal Cruiser Posted December 26, 2019 Report Posted December 26, 2019 Never been on Mariner but Navigator has the water coaster and it’s a blast. PRebecca 1 Quote
Biff215 Posted December 27, 2019 Report Posted December 27, 2019 We were making the same decision this past month for early January. Based on what has been said above, we preferred Navigator but ultimately chose Mariner based on price and airfare. Don’t think you can go wrong either way as they’re sister ships and very similar, unless Hooked/Hibachi or slides/Sky Pad are that important to you. Quote
