Labadee Cabana Help

Looking to book a Cabana while at Labadee as per @Matt's advice from the blog.  Not having been there before the options are not crystal clear to me nor are the differences and pros/cons of each.  At Nellies beach I see three types.  I see Waterfront Cabana, Cabana at Nellie's beach, and Overwater Cabana at Nellie's.  The waterfront option seems self explanatory but the difference between the other two is not clear and there is a massive price difference (560 vs 360 Can).  The videos posted by Royal look identical.  It looks like there are family bungalows at Columbus beach and some maps have cabanas at Adrenaline beach but I don't see those on the cruise planner.  Any insight from experience would be greatly appreciated!   Thanks!

We had an over the water cabana at Nellie’s Beach back in May... we got it for $521 (originally $579) on sale...

Here’s the map...

Here’s a pic of the first cabana in Nellie’s Beach on the right side as you enter the beach area (entrance is actually to the left of this pic)...

We choose in the end (first come, first assigned the morning of arrival to Labadee) cabana “NW4” which was the farthest from the beach and most secluded on that same side (right side). Through the trees to our right was Barefoot Beach... you can see a service gate at the top of the hill to the right of our cabana... we climbed the hill to take a peek at the cabanas on Barefoot Beach. Nice view of the ship (second and third pic)...

Our friend on the right in front of our cabana... REALLY nice... no neighbors to our right and the other cabanas to our left are lower in elevation...

Be aware, some cabanas have ladder access to water which is a little steep and possibly dangerous for folks with limited mobility or for young children. You would want one closer to the beach or enter the water from the beach if the ladder is an issue...

Some shots of the water in front of the cabana. The ship is just out of frame behind the brush to the right and can be completely seen when in the water.

The other pics are of the cabanas across the beach from us... those cabanas would be on the left side of the beach as you face the water...

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello guys,

Looking a bit of advice on age restrictions for the over water cabanas.

My wife and I hired 1 for our honeymoon a few years ago. We are looking enough to be returning next year with our mother's and our son. We would like to treat our parents to this luxury day.

My son will be 20 month old will he be allowed into the cabanas?

With regards to the cabanas, how strict are they with people going back and forth between them? I'll be renting one for my August cruise (got it during the Thanksgiving sale) and it's primarily for use by my parents, wife, sisters-in-law and two toddler nephews. So that's seven, but I've got two daughters and two nieces that might want to hang out with their mums at various times. Is there any workaround for this that involves using the cabanas?

Current plan is for the "commoners" (i.e. myself, my brothers and the girls) to get a (hopefully shaded) spot as close to the bungalow as possible, and trying to figure out how to make this work without renting a second bungalow.

You will be issued 6 (or 8, or whatever it is these days) wrist bands and only those people will be permitted in the restricted area.  How strict are they about monitoring who is coming and going ?  Unknown.  With the suites area, they are very strict about monitoring who is allowed in.  For the Nellie's Beach area (or wherever else cabanas are found these days), I have no idea.
