Missing Black Friday Deals Because of RCCL Problem

Sad we are going to miss out on Black Friday Cruise Planner Deals because Royal Caribbean cant get their act together and make our Coco Cay Excursions available for our August 2020 IOS Sailing. Keep getting the run around. Frustrating because they control everything on Coco Cay but still cant seem to get them added for our sailing. We have a group of new cruisers going with us and they are not getting a good impression of RCCL.

How much do you like/love RCCL?  If an issue like this is enough to frustrate you and perceive that the company cannot get their act together, you will not be a happy cruiser with Royal.

We actually have been very happy with Royal over the years, so much so that we are almost to Diamond Status.  However,  over the last couple years even with all the ship improvements, which we love, their IT department cant seem to keep up.  We are planners and we like to get our stuff done in advance.  We have actually been trying to work with them for several months making over a dozen calls and even more emails to resolve multiple issues, here are a few samples:

- Excursions listed in Cruise Planner were for the Wrong Itinerary

- No Excursions

- Typos on the website

- Wrong information provided by various departments

- E-mails to the Cruise Planner & Excursion Departments have been never responded to

We also took a cruise last year, pre-book multiple excursions and then when we got on the boat the ship knew nothing about the items we had paid for.  Luckily we had printed receipts.  It took half a day with the Customer Service desk and it even required us to call Miami from Nassau in order to get us fixed.

@Eddieb33we hear your pain, but there is not much we can offer you other then what you've already done. If you're looking for someone who might have experienced something similar so you can connect, then I wish you luck. If you are here to vent, then this may not be the best forum. We are a happy bunch getting excited for our upcoming cruises. Hppy sailing everyone.

@MikeSDTrying every avenue.  Hoping someone will have a new suggestion.   Unfortunately, some of the Board response have just been snarky and unproductive.  We love royal, wouldn't want to cruise with anyone else.  The other experience I related was resolved by RCCL.  It just seems to be taking a lot more effort than it used too.  Just wish we could find the right contact person at Royal to give us a real answer. Hoping someone will have a suggestion for something new to try.

If it makes you feel better, at least so far the prices in my Cruise Planner for Coco Cay for May 2020 are no better than they have been all along, and some of them are even higher (Thrill Waterpark is $93.99, we purchased for $79). Actually not a single thing that I've been following is any lower today, and the Key is actually higher than it was yesterday. Hoping it gets better over the course of the weekend at some point!

Maybe the reason that you got snarky remarks is because you started this thread with a seeming accusation of Royal Caribbean not getting their act together. If you are close to Diamond status, you should know by now that (1) Cruise Planner items become available at random times for different sailings; (2) These so-called sales may not even offer lower prices at all.  Unfortunately, that's just the way it is with Royal.  Some of us here have made a hobby out of "stalking" the RCCL website for good deals.

I suggest that you not fret about this Black Friday sales and watch out for better deals when the Coco Cay excursions become available for your sailing.

You are worried that the new cruisers going with you are not getting a good impression of Royal.  It might be your reaction and attitude towards the situation that will cause your friends to get a bad impression of this company we love.
