I have a thought on the UDP with Port Side BBQ. It sounds like they are doing the right thing (bbq wise) and making/smoking the meats daily, and have a limited supply. The prices arent very high. I wonder if they are lowering the daily rate you can use so that they can help stretch their daily supply of meats etc.

I think $20/visit is reasonable.  Spending more for one person would be tough as it would be quite a bit of food in one sitting.  But to cap it per day is a bit much with the terms of the plan written the way they are.

mbined with it also being the group cruise I felt like every single moment of that cruise was scheduled for me.

I originally had a CP double balcony room (cabin numbers ending in 229 and 629)

Are all Oasis Class ships like this with the double balconies of those rooms?  I'm doing Harmony next year and one of these are available.

Really enjoying your journey so far.  Have a great time!

Yes!  Be aware there is a storeroom next door and it can get a little clangy at early hours if you are noise sensitive!

All the other ships are sailing off.  We are waiting for a grand finale send off.  Horn battle with Explorer of the Seas as they passed got tons of laughs up on the new Solarium sun deck.

High tide is 6:38pm.  Likely last on purpose.  The closer they are to high tide the better the safety margin.

So I am torn on this new Solarium sun deck.  It by itself is an amazing place. Plenty of chairs and there are some clam shell things and no children. Kind of similar to the Carnival Serenity deck.

However I understand there used to be all this enclosed Solarium space right up against the windows that had a direct oceanview with no obstructions.

There is really none of that now. If you go to the size of the solarium there is but it's limited to maybe 10 or 15 chairs worth of loungers.

On many ships Diamond happy hour includes draft beer.  I’m guessing they’ll re-define that on Oasis.

I need to snag a D menu and bring it with me.   Forgot that draft beer clause.

On the UDP front our server thinks the dining package doesn't cover Playmakers.  Here we go again ?

Food porn..we ordered 12 wings, buffalo chicken crunch roll, and the Playmakers classic burger.

Overall this was a bit of a miss.  The wings ARE breaded for those who care about these things. My mom complained the wings were small.  The aged cheddar in the burger was so aged that it reminisced a Kraft single.  The handformed patty I remembered from Symphony is some tough pre-formed thing now. Bacon was crispy though.  Fries were steak fries with parmesan cheese melted on them. They warranted a "good".  The buffalo chicken crunch roll was the star of the show..think shredded buffalo chicken inside of an egg roll wrapper.  Delicious.

The waiter resolved the UDP issue and brought the check before the food in which I tipped and signed.  Havent seen him since the food was delivered.

Note we were a party of 2 in 2 different rooms. He only took one card and put all $22 on it and zeroed it out.

I wouldn't pay extra based on this experience but I would use it as an included dining option to stave off food coma from dining in the coveted specialty dining restaurants.

@AshleyDillo asking for my kids, are you able to get a pic of the ice cream selection at Sugar Beach?  Just whenever you wander by...

Just for your kiddos..smells like diabetes in there.  They don't rotate flavors..this is what they always have.

Are these the beers at Playmakers?  Thanks, we have been really curious about the craft beer choices onboard.

And this is why I don't UDP very often.  If they would allow me to know what I get for $X I'd buy it, but this whole "if it's Tuesday on Oasis when it's not sunny on Navigator on the previous Monday, then you get Playmakers" causes me to avoid the UDP.  Maybe that it's it - corporate sells it, ships don't want it so they veto it to the extent they can.

I also just prebook the individual restaurants I want so we get the price and time down before the cruise and relax knowing we are not hit with 'surprise' changes

If you pass through the casino, take a peek to see if @CHRIS WONG is there at the casino host desk... He mentioned in his recent video that this will be his assignment now that he is on Oasis.

Chris Wong is most likely putting out fires from guests that apparently were not getting points last night on the machines. Multiple hours of play and 0.00 points....
