Is it true?

Is it true that Solarium's Age Policy has changed from 16+ to 18+? Can anyone onboard recently confirm if this is true?

Regardless of the posted age, our experience is that it is inconsistently enforced, especially during daylight hours.  If there is a problem with an "open" pool, parents with kids have used the Solarium on many ships we've sailed.  Personally, I would prefer some sort of "adult" area where one can relax.

So on Grandeur now. Signage posted still says 16+. Cruise Compass says adults only, but I can’t remember if that’s always been the language used there.

Our experiences in the past have been, it's never a truly enforced age limit. But just noticing the hours. Typo? Or hopefully really time enforced?

There is a current thread on Cruise Critic. Apparently Explorer had a Cruise Compass showing that the Solarium age is 18.  It has not been confirmed that is true or was a typo in the CC and other ships have not shown a similar age requirement.

When we were on there during the summer it had 18 on a bit of paper taped over the 16. Maybe this is a Europe or uk thing?

Just a thought,

Also, to be honest our kids used to visit us all the time 4 x 14-16 and nobody batted and eye lid. I would say not ruthlessly enforces. But the 30 min rule with saving chairs was. Thankless task that guy had but he done well ?

They're very likely to actually check ages if the kids are acting up and causing issues. They will also check on adults who are doing the same. The only difference is that the adults can prove that they're allowed to be in there. So basically if they behave no one would say anything.
