ka0grp
Later in November we will be sailing on Oasis with our children (twins) that will turn 18 three days before our departure. On our last cruise they enjoyed the teen club but will not be able to go there this trip. What suggestions do you have because they probably will not want to hang out with their awesomely cool parents all of the time?
KWofPerth
My suggestion would be to set them loose and let them roam free. As newly minted adults (legally) they will appreciate the freedom and I'm sure they'll find things of interest to them. As parents, you get credit for not being overly protective, while safe in the knowledge that they're somewhere on the ship. Win-win. MikeSD
Had/have a similar problem. Its such a bummer that RC fails to address the 18-20 year old activities. They really just need a place/event to get introduced to one another (overcome the shyness). Our kids will do as mentioned above and have roaming privileges. Many of the Teen club kids hang out on the Boardwalk and Promenade (free food areas), so they will have plenty of company.

There is also the issue of who pays for room charges and what the standards of conduct are for drinking, etc. (It is easy to get free alcohol on a ship like the Oasis, or in port, so knowing the age restrictions for your itinerary is important.) I believe the Casino is open to 18 and above, so there is that to discuss as well. You probably have all of this figured out, but I only mention it as we traveled with our son at that age. melski94
When my DD was 18 it was a huge adjustment as we cruise a few weeks after she turned 18 and she was still in HS. Now that she is in college, she hangs out with us. Since there are 2 of them they may not need to. We go to the shows, casino (slots are cheaper than table games as $20 goes much farther), or she hangs out with us at the pub or schooner bar to listen to the singers. It is quite fun to hang out together.
wstephensi
They may not be able to drink, but they can go to the late night night clubs, adult karaoke, adult comedy and use the solarium.
Sharla215
Saw on the cruise planner that there is an 18-21 mingle on the first day. Perhaps they can meet some friends to hang out with the rest of the cruise.
