Hello there,

We are taking our first cruise ever and one of the stop is Barbados. What are the best shore excursions to do while there for a day? We were thinking of going on our own for Harrison Caves and Flower Garden and then booking Glory Tours for swim with turtles adventure? Anything else we should do or explore or any helpful itinerary for a day would be helpful?

Thanks,

We are going in January and have the Mount Gay rum tour booked, last year we just did an island tour because it was our first trip there, we did enjoy it, we had 4 stops and plenty of time for some shopping.

Thats awesome! Do you remember from which company you choose island tour?

If you like beaches, we love going to the Boatyard which is about 3-5 mins taxi ride from the port. The entry fee is $25/pp and that includes a beach chair and umbrella, ocean trampolines, a slide and rope swing, and a free boat ride to a shipwreck and swimming/snorkeling with sea turtles. Included in the price is your return taxi back to the ship! The water and sand is absolutely perfect and it's our one of our favorite islands in the Caribbean! Here is the link for more information https://www.theboatyard.com/adventure-beach  Have a great time whatever you decide to do!

Stopping in Barbados on Vision next month. Going to Harbour Lights (similar to Boatyard and right next door). Since we are all adults we don't really need the rope swing/trampoline options. 10$ to rent chair/umbrella and 20$ for all that + a turtle snorkeling tour. As Laura said take a taxi, Its 5$ each way.

We were in Barbados on Adventure in 2018, went on a TIAMI catamaran cruise with snorkeling. I'm not a swimmer, but I would definitely go again. The views were beautiful, the crew was fantastic. My wife went snorkeling, and loved it. They served lunch, chicken and fish prepared by the crew (delicious), and had Banks beer and a few other types of drinks they served after the snorkeling, of course. Sister in law and her husband also enjoyed swimming. Our excursion was through RC. Would go to them directly next time, if RC doesn't offer them.

When in Barbados we do a private catamaran tour with Calabaza Sailing Tours they do snorkeling with sea turtles and then the shipwreck. After that you sail up the coast to a very private beach.  it includes a continental breakfast and full lunch, drinks are included

.  Calabaza is to be considered a luxury, or elegant experience, for lack of a better word. Nicer, smaller boat, fewer passengers (normally 8 to 10), constant attention from the staff. Great food and drink, fun and very capable staff. Cabin and head for changing is almost luxurious, considering you are on a small cat.

Another company that is good,  take a look at Silvermoon. It is almost on the same level as Calabaza. They are a couple of hours shorter than Calabaza and a little cheaper.
