DunkelBierJay
It's been a couple weeks since I last checked the pricing, but it has gone back down to $8.00 vs $9.40 the last time I saw it....that'll save me $49 for the five people in my bookings...so, if you've been holding off, it may be time to commit to it. KLA
I noticed that yesterday - they're just not adding the gratuity on to the listing. It gets added when you add it to your cart from what I've been able to tell.
Marc
What's changed is that the Cruise Planner is no longer showing the price with gratuity included, but instead showing the base price and adding 18% during the checkout process. The displayed price is lower, but the net price you pay is the same.
PRC
Last week was $8/day plus the 18%. 7 nighter = $66.08 (or $9.44 per day) A good value for me vs the per glass cost, as my Diet Coke addiction is severe. But... when you see that final number, it really tells me I need to swear off the stuff! ;)
WAAAYTOOO
I wish they would make up their minds about this ! They keep switching from showing prices with grats and then showing prices w/o grats. I personally think it's sneaky to show the prices w/o grats and then - SURPRISE - at checkout. I'm curious why they justify gratuities for this product on ships where the vast majority of the product is self dispensed using the Coke Freestyle machines. I think the machines are just part of the equation. Frankly, I think guests drinks from wait staff at restaurants and bars quite often. I use this package and most of the fleet seems not to have the self service machines. I do not know the number of ships with them but I found only one out of three ships I was on over the last year had self service.
PRC
I never use the cup/tumbler provided. I always get regular glasses from the bars, so I guess this is where the 18% comes in. Going off on a tangent slightly, I know there have been many discussions about people saying they get ignored at the bars in favor of customers ordering something which may result in an additional tip (no receipt to sign on the soda package, therefore no place to add $$$). I have never experienced this. What I have noticed over the past year or so, is an understaffing of the bars in general, resulting in big backups. This was very noticable last week on Liberty, with the worst cases \of understaffing being the pool, sky, schooner, and pub bars. The casino always seemed to be well staffed, as was the plaza, solarium, R, and Olive/Twist. I don't recall Boleros or star, and I didn't visit the built-ins on both levels of the theater. I have never experienced this. Same here. When I had the drink package on Brilliance never had felt like I was being passed over for people paying "cash". What I have noticed over the past year or so, is an understaffing of the bars in general, resulting in big backups. I agree that this issue is most problematic at the pool bars during the day. Good luck getting a drink quickly from any of the pool bars on a sea day between 11am-4pm. Then again, I find better luck flagging down a waiter and having them get me a drink in that manner. whitsmom
DocLC
Wasn't an issue on the Liberty a couple of months ago, not even at the pool.
