Va4fam
Family of 4 (2 adults, two kids 20 and 17) cruising on Anthem and looking for best way to see Kennedy Space Center during our stop at Port Canaveral on 12/31. Lot of info on KSC but having a hard time figuring out the logistics of how to do it (too many choices!). We need to get from the port to KSC (either bus tour or uber...car rental was way overpriced!), figure out which tour will show us the launch pads, Atlantis, and other KSC sights, and get us back to the port in time. There are self tours, guided tours, escorted tours, grayline tours, etc. Which is the best one to book? What are the pros/cons of taking the 6 hour tour vs. 8 hour tour? Any other tips and suggestions appreciated.
GregD
I would recommend the Kennedy Space Center Guided Tour PC15 excursion that should be listed in your cruise planner. My family did this one when we cruised on Anthem a few years back. This tour gets you to the space center on a NASA owned bus, and driven by one of their employees who is very knowledgeable. While on the bus you will be driven around the space center and see the crawler that moves the shuttles, you will drive past the vehicle assembly building, go past the launch pads, and get a nice history of the center. You will also have a guide that takes you around all the exhibits, the Saturn V building, Atlantis etc etc. ours was very good and wasn’t pushy, and never felt rushed. This same bus will return you to the port at the end of the day.

On a recent visit we needed to wait in line for over 2 hours for the bus tour which for us was the primary reason for the visit.

Yes, the bus that you get on to go to the space center is the one you do the tour on, so there is essentially no wait. When we did this, we got on the bus at the port, and headed to the space center. This same bus did the tour that you did previously that takes you around the center to the launch pads etc. There was no breaks or anything, so the bus tour essentially started at the port USCG Teacher and Marc Van Niekerk
Va4fam
Thank you @emsff02 for the clarification on the tours. PC15 is the 8 hour tour, correct? Looking forward to our KSC visit.

Jipis
Ok, semi-hijacking. PC15 isn't available on my cruise (Anthem, March 15, 2020). My KSC options are Kennedy Space Center Shuttle - PC86 Kennedy Space Center Day Tour (Afternoon Arrival) - PC54 Legends of Cape Canaveral - PC87 Are any of those similar (but perhaps just shorter because we have a noon arrival at PC?) to the recommended PC15? Thanks, all!
GregD
I’m going to assume PC54.
Silligan
And does PC54 (KSC Afternoon Areival) include admission? If it does it seems like a good deal to skip lines and get round trip transport. With only two of us in my party it seems like almost the same price as Lyft + regular admission. GregD
@Silligan, if it’s anything like the excursion that I did, yes admission is included Silligan
