jlb335
Hi, all, New poster. I've called RCCL twice and read extensively online and continue to receive conflicting information about swim facilities on Independence of the Seas. Post-dry dock, is there an area for toddlers in swim diapers to enjoy? I was told by one RCCL rep there is a Splash Pad but there is no info about it on the official deck plan or site. Thanks! jb

MotleyCruiser
when are you sailing? Maybe someone can report to you after they are on board? Enchantment had signage EVEN at the splash Pad saying toddlers must no be in any sort of diaper :( I'll be on in Feb. That'll probably no help. jlb335
Thanks for the welcome, @WAAAYTOOO! @MotleyCruiser, looking at sailing for next December but wanting to book now as it would be over holidays. Can't believe how unclear the guidance is from RCCL.

MotleyCruiser
look at 2:00:00 looks like a small area for those in Diapers
jlb335
Thanks for that video, @MotleyCruiser. I worried that was before dry dock but I hadn't thought to look at YouTube. There was a recent video on there from a Mom who did a day onboard the ship. From around 10:45 - 11:20 she explains where children in swim diapers are allowed. Hopefully this is helpful to someone else! MotleyCruiser
S0nny
It appears as if swim diapers are permitted on Independence of the Seas in the H2O Zone, but is only meant in the super shallow part intended for babies and toddlers. I’ve heard about swim diapers in other areas going unnoticed by crew, but it would make sense as a health code violation if there are areas built without proper mitigation of bacteria. No one wants to be that family responsible for the pool closing down on a cruise day for draining and cleaning. https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=3254 https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/07/08/what-you-need-know-about-taking-infant-royal-caribbean-cruise
ChrisK2793
From the article linked below: “There are Baby Splash Zones on Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, Independence of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas.” https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/07/08/what-you-need-know-about-taking-infant-royal-caribbean-cruise BUT, children with swim diapers are NOT allowed in the regular children’s swim area on any ship. I’m guessing they Harmony and Symphony probably also have baby splash zone as they weren’t sailing yet when the article was written and the other w Oasis class ships do. NateL
There is a diapers only area on Indy. There was a small slide to climb up and go down with a splash landing, as well as two splash animals and the splash tower. My 18 month old enjoyed that area. See photo from video posted above.
