dancingfish
We will be renting a car while in Miami for a few days prior to our cruise. is there drop off at the port or will we have to Uber or shuttle over to the port?
twangster
Many car rental companies run a shuttle to the cruise port. The catch is finding the right location to use. For Hertz it's the 2nd Street HLE if I recall correctly. Some shuttles only pick up at the port and don't drop off. Inquire with your favorite rental company. AshleyDillo
Alamo/National/Enterprise all use the same shuttle bus from the port to the airport. I have not taken it from the airport to the port, but it is available. It is a full sized bus with luggage racks.

Like Twangster said, many will only go to the airport. We sailed on Navigator recently, and had a rental car for a few days prior to the cruise. We found it really easy to drop the bags at the port first, return the rental car, then uber back to the ship. We used Sixt for the rental car. They have a return location 3 minutes from the port. It was about15 minutes to drop the bags, return the car, uber back to the port, and board the ship. Enterprise also has very close locations too. They only have an airport shuttle though, but an uber Lyft would be easy.
dancingfish
We have decided it was cheaper to Uber to our hotel.. Rent a car for 3 days one block from Hotel and then return it and Uber to port. Saves us a little over $50.00 And then there is no stress!
