coneyraven
Essentially, she won't be back in Baltimore until tomorrow afternoon, thereby delaying departure for the 5-nighter to Bermuda. Now she will arrive in Bermuda at 8:30 am on Tuesday and leave that same day at 5:00 (instead of arriving on Monday around lunch time and staying over night. Footage of her trip back from New England shows incredibly high surf as she makes her way back south. JLMoran and twangster 1
WAAAYTOOO
Yes, we are on the cruise departing tomorrow and received that email. Truthfully, I am not a bit upset with this itin change. I have cancelled the hotel for tonite and we will now drive up tomorrow afternoon and just park in the port parking lot. 2 sea days over gives us more casino time so I am thrilled with that ! Of course, nobody is happy with the idea of sailing in a storm...rough seas are never a good thing but neither of us gets sea sick so I'm sure we'll be fine. The only thing that I am cross about is that we will lose at least 1 specialty restaurant meal and perhaps 2 (not sure how reasonable it is to think that we can get into a specialty for dinner that first night) but I feel certain that they will give us a partial refund or some kind of credit for that. Other than that, I am ok with this change. coneyraven
sk8erguy1978
That stinks. Oh well, safety first. At least you're still boarding on Saturday, I'd look at that as a positive. I was on the Anthem 5 day in September that had to leave Bermuda early because of Jerry, the two sea days back were actually fun. Hopefully it's a great cruise! coneyraven
I think we've all experienced these situations and tend to handle them with a grain of salt ..... a day on a cruise in crappy weather is still better than a day at work. Oh, and I lived through my "fun times" with Hurricane Jose back in '17 Vancity Cruiser, WAAAYTOOO and sk8erguy1978 2
JLMoran
Here's hoping the folks on Grandeur right now are doing OK and not requiring the use of too many barf bags. And I hope your own sailing is still a good one, and that you and Tyna at least get a good day in Bermuda with typically nice weather there. Misread the original post, I took it to mean that you were on that upcoming sailing and getting impacted by the delay.
Zeashore
We were on Grandeur in February 2015 out of Baltimore for a Caribbean cruise - rough seas. Witnessed a wave come OVER the windows of the Windjammer. DH and I do not get seasick (thankfully) so it was a wild ride. Captain's Corner was full of people asking if the ship could handle it. He said absolutely yes, the ship could handle it and admitted it was the biggest wave he had ever encountered. One for our record books. ! That sounds like you ether got hit by a rogue wave, or the swells were so large that the ship was still in the trough between waves when that one hit. Windjammer on Grandeur is Deck 9, which means it's roughly 64-72 feet above the water line. No way that was any normal wave that hit unless you were in a deep trough! Glad you all made it through with nothing more than a big adventure to talk about years later! (and maybe some seasickness in the more-susceptible passengers)
WAAAYTOOO
We had a pretty smooth night but honestly, for most of it we were still in the Chesapeake Bay. We were pitching and rolling earlier but now (2:00) we are really smoothing out. Beautiful weather. Looking forward to another sea day tomorrow twangster, KathyC, teddy and 1 other

Seemingly, we got back on schedule so it doesn’t make sense that we would be late to return but the casino manager just told me that they won’t be closing the casino until 11:00 which would indicate to me that they are behind schedule. I will ask.
