Any suggestions on excursion? For Lanzarote, I would recommend looking for tours to Cueva de los Verdes (http://www.cactlanzarote.com/en/cact/cueva-de-los-verdes/) and/or Timanfaya National Park (https://turismolanzarote.com/en/visiting-the-timanfaya-national-park/) And for Tenerife, something that lets you visit Teide National Park, where you can (weather permitting) take a cable car ride up to the top of Monte Teide, the highest peak in Spain (https://www.spain-tenerife.com/en/places/teide.html). Any suggestions on excursion? We took a similar cruise in 2015. We found a "finca" tour on Gran Canaria fantastic. It was a family-run vineyard and orchard. After a short walk we tasted wine and cheese. To and from the finca we had a nice bus tour, and there was a little time to shop in a small fishing village. This was for us the best trip of the cruise. In Lanzarote, which looks like the moon or perhaps Mars, we took a beach excursion and had plenty of time for a local lunch. The tour was basically the bus ride to and from the beach, narrated by a British ex-pat who was very knowledgeable. At Tenerife, we took the tour to the national park with rugged volcanoes and rocks (The Teide National Park tour which Fiona mentioned.) It was interesting, but the bus ride through the mountains was a bit tedious. We stopped for a restroom break and coffee on the way. Have a great trip, and remember the food and entertainment on the ship will cater to the UK audience... The Canary Islands are most interesting and worth a visit. If you go through Funchal, don't forget the chariot ride down the hill! IRMO12HD
