$500 deposit question

If my S/O can not make the agreed sailing date but I've already put the deposit down could I reschedule a different sailing date at no cost?

Or if we want to cancel to book a different cruise do we get our deposit back if it is before 120+ days?

Did you actively choose the refundable deposit? Bookings default to non-refundable so that deposit ‘could’ be applied to another cruise, less a $100/pp rebooking fee.

Most bookings these days are NRDB - Non Refundable Deposit Booking.  

The terms and conditions of NRDB are:

• *Price is per person, cruise only, applies to selected sailing, lowest available fare stateroom category, based on double-occupancy, reflects any promotional savings, and is subject to change and availability until booked. Non-refundable deposit: Non-refundable deposit booking (“NRDB”) cancelled prior to final payment due date will receive a future cruise credit in the amount of the deposit minus a $100 per person service fee. FCC is non-transferable and expires after 12-months from issue date. 100USD/100CAD/80EUR per person service fee applies to changes to NRDB ship or sail date.

 

So it works like this.  You each paid a $250 deposit.  The penalty to change ship or sail date is $100 each.  The $150 difference (each) is created in the form of a future cruise certificate for $150 in each person's name that is valid for one year.

If you want to be able to change a sail date and/or ship, make sure you book refundable cruise fare to be able to change dates without penalty.
