We are scheduled to sail out of Port Canaveral on the Mariner of the Seas on Monday, Sept. 9. Has anyone heard if CocoCay is still there? ?  Also, if we get rerouted to another port, we are traveling with birth certificates only (no passports) do you think they will allow us on or off the ship???

Coco Cay was not in direct path, BUT you have to remember that the majority of their employees evacuated prior to the storm.  When we were there in July, our cabana attendant was from the Bahamas, and she stated that 9 out of 10 are from the Bahamas.  Thus, what you are also talking about is that although Coco Cay maybe fine, they need the staff and some of those people will be dealing with destruction where their family lives.  Or they may not even be able to get back to coco cay if the docks in Bahamas are damaged.

We watched the glass bottom boat leave @2:30 for the day.  They dock over by the jet ski area, not the pier.  She told us that was the area where they shuttle out of to go back to "mainland"  They are not large boats, which ties into dock damage in Bahamas can have a ripple effect on Coco Cay.

Royal is very good about keeping passengers informed as soon as they can.
