ManonM
Hi, We are sailing on Liberty in September. We have never cruised with Royal Caribbean before. We have made custom lanyards for our party of 11. What type of id holder do you use for your sea pass and why? Or is there a hole in the Sea Pass to attach to the lanyard? And then do you take the card out or remove your lanyard every time you get a drink, etc.? I know these are silly questions, but my OCD is acting up as the date approaches... Photos of your Sea Pass holder would be helpful :) (especially if on Liberty as I'm sure it's not the same on the newer ships) Thank you! Matt
On Liberty, you can put a hole punch through the card, but I still recommend a plastic sleeve. 1 hour ago, ManonM said: And then do you take the card out or remove your lanyard every time you get a drink, etc.? Yes you do.
PG Cruiser
I'm the Ovation right now. They have the RFID card. I'm using a clear plastic sleeve and a belt loop key ring. On older ships without the RFID cards, I just punch a hole on the card and use a lanyard attachment. ScottL
Do they use RFID cards on the Allure or the other ones?
MO & LO on the go!
We have never been on oasis or quantum class ships (Have our first on Harmony in Jan 2021!). Do they all have RFID? and how does that work as opposed to the old type cards for stuff?

Old style cards are swiped for unlocking stateroom doors, making purchases, and for access to gangways. The RFID cards are tapped on the sensors to accomplish the same tasks as the old ones. Cool! 10 cruises of the old cards will be interesting to try the new ones!

You can purchase WOW bands on ships that have RFID sensors. I like them for unlocking stateroom doors, but not for making purchases or getting drinks. Some bartenders will ask you to take them off your wrist. Not very cool.

If you collect souvenirs, they’d make a good keepsake

They’ll still ask for the actual Sea Pass Card

Flacruiser99
The best part of RFID cards is that they don't have the magnetic stripe that I always screw up and have to get a new one.
CruiseGus
I have always had mine hole punched and when purchasing something I just take the whole lanyard over my head and hand it to the bartender
puertorican
I use this card holder in my lanyard, is very convenient and it hold the key card in it, and are very easy to pull out to give to a bar tender etc. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004Z9BO6G/?coliid=I1C6INQSQ586S4&colid=1UC8L0253B0J2&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it CFL and ManonM
