what shows are on the ship? I just booked her for 7 days in April 2021.  I found out the end of the college semester was around when I booked a 4 night sailing on Brilliance.  My wife and I decided to extend the sailing since there was no rush to get back.

Saturday Night Fever is the Broadway show on board.  No reservations are needed.  Great show!

We are on Liberty now.  Nothing much to report since we’ve only been under way for about an hour.  James McDonald is Capt, Marco Roko is the Chief Engineer, Adrian Theodore is the Hotel Director and Jeffrey Arpin is the Cruise Director.  No mention of who the Activities Director is.  We were slightly delayed in boarding this morning.  I think we finally boarded at about 11:15.  The Captain mentioned the weather disturbance in the east but said it’s unlikely to affect us.  Everything’s going great so far.  I’ll let you know if anything of interest develops.  We had lunch in Chops (UDP) and found out that Chops on LIB no longer serves red velvet cake but as soon as he said that, I recalled that they didn’t have it last year either.  The server said that they still offer it in the MDR on formal night but not at Chops anymore.  ??. The cheesecake was pretty darned good though !

Adriana is the Suites Concierge. I have not met her before but we’re heading to the SL now to give her a list of dinner plans for the rest of the week.  She has been very attentive so far (by mail) so I think I will like her.  Sabor for dinner (sans the queso fundido, unfortunately).

thanks for the info, will you be posting a few pics of the sailing?  I know I am forever and a day away from our sailing, but I am doing my research now.  Watched a couple of ship tours.  Looks like a great ship.

We are on Liberty right now on our first cruise.  What an absolute blast!  We are in the aft of the ship and our room is non stop vibrating...no big deal for me just not sure how the wife feels about it yet.  OH! Lava flow with Kraken is amazing!

What deck are you on?

Current Cruise Director is a lot of fun

Washy Washy guy in WIndjammer is a lot of fun

I highly recommend taking a stroll through the kids zone and letting the bucket dump on your head, nice way to cool off in 3 seconds.

There are no freestyle coke machines

The pub singer right now is pretty lousy and the crowds will reflect it

Try to get to the slides right at 9 am when they open to avoid lines

For some reason (maybe it was the 1700 kids on my sailing) there was always lines of 15 - 30 people for pizza at any time of the day

Eeek! We have an aft suite on 9. Guess it's dramamine for everyone!

Its weird, we are on port side and can feel it consistantly but we ate at Giovanni's last night and didnt feel anything.   I wonder if its just a port side issue.  Sitting in the very back center in Windjammer you can feel some vibration as well, but nothing in Giovanni's.   Like I said it doesnt bother me but I guess everyone is different.

More Liberty intel.

We went to Chops for dinner last night.  We have the UDP.  While I was not interested in ordering it, I did ask the waiter whether the upcharge 1.5 LB lobster would be included in the UDP.  His answer was “no”.  Still no red velvet cake at Chops - even at dinner. The waiter said that sometimes they will offer RVC in the Windjammer but that it is absolutely no longer available any time in Chops. ??

In today’s Compass it showed that Sabor opened at noon (even though today is a port day - Grand Cayman) so we decided that we go get some queso-fundido-by-another-name (queso fondue) and change our dinner reservations to a different venue since we have Sabor scheduled for 6PM. With queso fundido thoughts dancing in our head, we headed to Sabor at 1:00. FAKE NEWS !  Sabor was closed ! Overwhelmed with grief, we decided to settle for Sorrentos.  To our great surprise, the pizza was the best we’ve ever had on a Royal Caribbean ship.  We had a little Mediterranean olive salad, some tomatoes and mozzarella and a slice of pepperoni pizza.  Not queso fundido, to be sure, but not a bad consolation prize either.  So now we will keep our Sabor rezzies for tonite and someone will be questioned about the fake news Compass report that said they would be open for lunch.

I’m sorry to have to report that my casino winning streak came to end last night. Dan’s is still intact. So I will see how it goes tonite. Last night was brutal !  Still up overall but I can no longer claim that I haven’t had a losing session on this cruise.??

Tomorrow is Labadee. As far as I know the hurricane will not affect our plans to call there but I cannot believe that it will be a great day, weather-wise.  Won’t affect us as we weren’t planning on leaving the ship anyway.  I guess we’ll see.

Thanks for posting all this info, it is so helpful. We're going on our FIRST cruise on the Liberty in March 2020 and I'm so excited. Any tips for first timers are appreciated :)!

Update on the fake news Sabor saga.

As I mentioned above, we had reservations at Sabor for dinner.  When we arrived I politely asked why they had advertised that Sabor was open for lunch today.  I was told that the note in the Compass was a mistake (no kidding!) and that it was actually Giovanni’s turn to be open for lunch on “Grand Cayman Day”.  Apparently they rotate between Sabor, Giovanni’s and Chops to be open. It was Giovannis day today.  I have no idea if THEY were actually open for lunch or not.  It never occurred to us to check and see if Giovanni’s (or Chops, for that matter) was open.  So the lesson here is that any specialty restaurant is likely to be open for lunch any day - Port day or sea day.

On a side note, there was a similar quirk with Izumi on Freedom a few months ago. It was not advertised ANYwhere that Izumi would be open for lunch on any given port day, nevertheless, it was often open on port days for lunch.  You just had to show up to find out, I guess.
