Cabin Assignment

First time cruiser on Royal Caribbean.  I booked a Guarantee Balcony cabin- can someone tell me how they inform you when your cabin has been assigned?  Do they e mail you, or do you have to keep checking the website?  I check the website everyday hoping it changes from #GTY to a cabin #.  Sailing on Anthem Nov 2nd. Thank you!

It has been a long time since I booked a #GTY but I recall they will email you in advance.  That email will likely be close to the cruise as they will continue to try and maximize their bookings.  I recall I was actually upgraded once a few cruises back and I was notified a few days before and had to reprint my luggage tags.  That was a hard thing to do :-)

Good luck and enjoy!

Another thing to note that once you do get your cabin number-which is very up in the air when that happens such as some get it very close to their cruise or I got our FOTS assignment already for Jan 5 2020 cruise-you can (if there is availability) ask to switch to a different cabin in the same class per some advice I had seen here.  We think we will enjoy where we ended up but wanted to pass that along.

They may or may not notify you, It's best to keep checking.

Never got an EDOC notice and we are on anthem in 2 weeks and we just got another Royal Up email. The cruise has been sold out for weeks.  RC at its finest.   Have read and been told do not do the guaranteed room. It is a crap shoot.  Its like the casino. You never know.

Well the cruise is for my daughter’s sweet 16- she chose a cruise with a friend over a party- don’t blame her. I figured since we had to get 2 cabins I’d save a few bucks booking a gty balcony for both rooms. I honestly don’t care where we end up- I know it will be a balcony and I will be on vacation!

RobandAnna- I was also offered a Royal Up this week. I also thought it was a bit strange as well since I haven’t been assigned a cabin yet. Figured I would take my chances with what they give me and go from there.

I am thinking of doing the same.....lets see what happens....

Have a GTY cabin for our kids and Grandkids on our Oct Liberty cruise and have not received their assignment and also received a Royal Up offer which we filled in for them. Figure it will be about 3 weeks before we go before we know what room they get. Our TA said our sailing date was pretty open on cabins at this time so hoping they can move up.

I booked a GTY Balcony for our 9/7/19 Anthem Cruise and the first thing I got was thru the website a muster station.

That was about 70 days out.  Then about 45 days out I saw my luggage tags available and they had the deck listed but still no cabin number.

30 days I received my cabin assignment, again thru the website ( never was sent an email telling me specifically about my cabin) only email was in cruise docs.

Cruise docs were updated 30 days out with the cabin assignment also.  This has been a sold out cruise for some time and I was very surprised to have my cabin assigned that early.

On a side note, I was offered Royal Up 70 days out and put in a bid.  Called Royal about 50 days out and requested upgrade waitlist.  Then cancelled Royal Up.  Within days of canceling Royal Up I had my deck assignment.

  • 2 weeks later...

We booked a GTY for the October 10th sailing on Vision.

Our eDocs say Deck 7, but we have no room assignment.  Last week we received a Royal Up email....which we deleted. ?  We could have bid as low as $20 pp for an upgrade but we decided not to.

I don't expect to find out our room until we arrive at the port.  My wife thinks we'll know sooner.  Either way we don't care cause we will be on vacation.

Hello everyone, we are going on our first cruise on Liberty of the Seas on January 26th leaving out of Galveston.

I got our cabin number a week ago. Deck Nine, right next to the  elevators by the Library.

Seems like a good location - any thoughts on that?

Excellent location !  Very fortunate for a GTY.  Enjoy Liberty.  Great ship.

I've never thought like others that cabins near elevators are overly noisy. Looks like a great location to me.

Happy Cruising!
